This is a story/lore driven campaign with a heavy emphasis on teamwork and with treasure hunting as the main goal of the party. We play every Friday at 7PM EDT. It is set in a heavily-home brewed Forgotten Realms. The core tie within the party is their shared gratitude to their patron. Every party member was, at some point, doing rather poorly (as in living in shit/about to die bad). Each was saved by the generosity of the party's patron and serve their savior with unflinching loyalty with no regard for personal gain. So, no side-deals, no backstabbing the party and no hoarding the loot all to yourself. Main House Rules: 1. No themes or Backgrounds (Backgrounds for fluff only, but no bonuses or powers) 2. Exotic, creature or non-native races must be discussed/approved by me prior to character creation. 3. You may not start with magic items level 18 or higher at character creation. (This also applies to rituals.) 4. Massive damage rules apply to players as well as creatures (ie they take their bloodied value or higher in dmg in a single attack). Creatures are killed and players drop to 0hp or at -hp if already below bloodied value, max hp or + in dmg = outright death for players ( ie no death saving throws). 5. PCs are permitted to have a cloak and necklace equipped in the neck slot. The defense bonuses stack. 6. Rolling a natural 1 on a death saving throw is instant death, with no rescue or revival possible outside of the 'Raise Dead' ritual, Necromancy or a Miracle. 7. If a PC is rendered helpless, the enemy may perform a Coup de Grace, as the PCs can. 8. A Coup de Grace is an instant kill, not a critical hit. 9. A Miracle does not cost EXP, but PCs are limited to one in their whole existence. Requires a religion check to be activated (must specify Miracle when performing the check).
