Oh boy oh boy the Nerf Hammer cometh for you

So I got to thinking a little today about multi-classing so I started reading more on this topic something I have not done in the past. And let's just say someone is not going to enjoy this very much :( PHB pg. 164 Spell slots.  You determine your available spell slots by adding together all of your levels in the bard, cleric, druid, sorcerer and wizard classes, half your levels (rounded down) in the paladin and ranger classes, and a third of your fighter or rogue levels (rounded down) if you have EK or AT feature.  Use this total to determine your spell slots by consulting the multi-class spell-caster table. Now I think we are good so far but here is where the pain of the nerf bat hits. If you have more than one spell-casting class, the table might give you spell slots higher than the spells you know or can prepare.  You can use those slots, but only  to cast your lower-level spells.  Now if we go on to read we will find out this. If you happen to be lets say a 9th level wizard and 1st level cleric you do get 4 - 1st level spells, 3 - 2nd level spells, 3 - 3rd level spells, 3 - 4th level spells, and 2 -  5th levels spells and you can use any of those slots to cast any spell your class level  gives you access to. So yes as the hypothetical character outlined here I could cast a 5 level spell slot 1st level cleric spell (like a Cure wounds at level 5) but I could not cast a 5th level cleric spell.  :( I knew something was not kosher with this but it was not till now that I really decided to question it. Let me know if you have any questions, thanks
Sorry, my bad! I should of been more read up on multi-class so this wouldn't of been an issue. Won't happen again and thanks for the rule clarification. I believe I fixed my character sheet.
Thanks B
