Help me please 2d20

Hi all,  trying out a playtest for a new game and wondering of the Macros can be used to automate successes: the system picks two attributes from a character sheet and you roll 2d20 getting less than the combined total is 1 success, less than the higher of the two attributes is 2 successes, and getting less than the lower is 3 successes.  I would like to Select the two attributes from a list (I have managed that part (?{Attack Check|Movement&Attack, #move&attack|Option2|Option3|Option4|Option5}) then check the number of successes generated between 0-6  Can roll 20 manage this without using the API?

I don't think you can do it using the success/failure roll syntax, but I could see using the default roll template to format it to be easily figurable. &{Template:default} {{Roll=[[2d20]]}} {{first attribute=value}} {{second attribute=value}}

I'm thinking Scott has the right idea. Just making a general template and do &{Template:default} {{Roll = [[2d20]]}} ?{Select Attribute 1:| attribute A, {{@{selected|attribute A name} = @{selected|attribute A value} & #125;& #125;  | attribute B, {{@{selected|attribute B name} = @{selected|attribute B value} & #125;& #125; ... } ?{Selecte Attribute 2:| attribute A, {{@{selected|attribute A name} = @{selected|attribute A value} & #125;& #125; | attribute B, {{@{selected|attribute B name} = @{selected|attribute B value} & #125;& #125; ... } {{Less than combined = 1 success}} {{Less than highest = 2 successes}} {{Less than lowest = 3 successes}} You don't quite have to do it like this, but this method will allow you to choose the attributes each time you want to roll it. It's a slight variation on what Scott said. Just be sure to remember to remove the spaces between the &'s and the #'s. Edit: As for the generation check, if you have a list of things that could happen, then why not do a rollable table with those in it and do and make this a macro to roll afterwards: /r ?{Number of Successes: | 1, 1 | 2, 2 | 3, 3 | ... }t[Table's Name]
Scott & Qwerty,  Thanks for the prompt replies guys.  going to look into setting this up now.  Thanks Dom

Np, I was actually going for what Qwerty was suggesting, but was posting via phone.
