A gift for the weary

During the short rest the whispers become unbearable except for a moment when a voice clearly echos through the halls peaceful and clam. 'To those brave souls that have come to my library I bid you all the best, this place was always meant to host mortals searching for knowledge.  There are several invaders in my Library, in exchange for clearing the library from their presence I am going to grant each of you permission to remove one item held within these walls.  I cannot permit any books to leave the confines of the library but you will find several items of note within these walls.  I also wish to give you one more gift use it to protect yourselves in your time of need.' The voice is that of Nintar his voice carries more clarity than ever. 7 globes of energy fly through the hall and you see them searching and they twist past the bookshelves and zip along the floors and walls until they come upon the group.  The orbs dart towards each member of the group: The orbs comes to a halt in front of each person the intent of the orbs made clear in your minds allowing you to choose to have it or not. Each of you gets to choose - The orb will allow you two benefits 1) It will allow you to remove 1 non-book from the library. 2) It will infuse you with what I will refer to as a Hero Point Mechanics of a Hero point - A hero point will allow you to do any ONE of the following once per long rest as the hero point will refresh at your long rest. 1) Cancel a Critical Hit scored on you. 2) Add 1d6 to any one attack roll (Can be chosen after attack roll is made) 3) Succeed on any one saving throw (can be chosen after rolls have failed. The orb will float away should you decide not to accept it.  Post here or tell me in game next week, thanks.
The group hears the lightning canons firing at something in the hallway, after about 2 minutes the sounds of lightning blasting fades away and footsteps are moving down the hall towards the group. Wrast accepts the orb (btw) and it simply gets absorbed into his arm, no pain, no screaming or anything else.
As Trelic gets fried by the turrets =P
Talia would also accept the orb
I will wait untill the game. I need to roll some dice before I decide whether or not to take it xD
