Ilmrith didn'thave a very exciting life growing up, one could say it was more boring and uneventful. Working on the farms with his mother and father helping out with odd tasks here and there, which he would struggle with, and no matter how many times he had done the task before he somehow managed to muck it up. There were long and vicious arguments between this mother and father, sometimes because of his mistakes and others because, well, they just didn't like each other that much anymore. At the age of 14 his father left after one of the worst argument he had witnessed between them, there was even a fist or two thrown from what I hear, unknown whether his father would return it was time for Ilmrith to step up and become the man of the farm... Ilmrith did not like this responsibility at all and by the age of 16and some neglect the farm had deteriorated to a small patch of land and a few animals, just enough for the two of them to survive the winters. A year later his mother fell sick with a fever and died later that month, left alone and with almost the feeling of freedom in front of him Ilmrith decided to sell what was left of his farm and see what was out in the land before him. Now Ilmrith had no responsibilities he headed to a local inn in directions for towns and cities, and a few ales, well.. you can't really blame the guy, can you? and on that night there happened to be a band of musicians passing by, one of them, a rather small guy gnomish with short grey hair and glasses, thin but held himself as though he had the strength of a thousand giants, heard Ilmrith in conversation with the landlord about travelling the roads to the next town and offered him a place in their caravan which Ilmrith accepted graciously. Ilmrith now travelling with this band of musicians, of which were not that great at all and surprised Ilmrith how they even made any gold as musicians and not jesters, felt at home as if a part of him had longed for this group of misfits. Ilmrith went on to travel with them for about 30 years or so, learning many instruments mainly the flute and played it with an elegance one could only describe as the sound of the gods. With the skills, he had learnt travelling with the band of musicians, Ilmrith decided to go his own way and perform solo acts in inns and for the wealthy when he had the chance, perfecting his musician skills. During his travels, the empire had gone to war and the roads had become unsafe as patrols and guards were shortened to supply the front of the war. Ilmrith sought out training in the combat arts to ensure his safety between towns and cities, his favourite was the rapier and like his instruments he could manoeuvre it with elegance and finesse, besting his trainer after years of practice, granted his trainer was pretty old at this point and going slightly crazy, he also gained some proficincy with crossbows, but he wasnt very good with them and hated training with them for that reason. After a decade or two Ilmrith was bored of travelling the Empire playing the same old songs and telling the same old stories to folk who had probably heard stories just as well before. Ilmrtith had heard of an expedition to new lands, dangerous lands, excitement flooded his body, Ilmrith knew this was his next calling, not asking any questions or curious to what the expedition was he jumped on the first boat to the new lands, Maladon, here comes Ilmrith, I hope you have some stories for me to tell. And that folks, is how I ended up on this boat, whispering my fine tale into your beautiful ears. Thank you all very much, Ilmrith Aleanlyl.
