Hi everyone. I am new here so not sure if this is the right forum. My pall plays DND and he made a goblin character, I wanted in on that by making an Illithid character concept. Due to not being sure what edition he plays and some massively conflicting suggestions and rules we both have gotten when looking for advice, I am not sure how to go about the rest of the design process. I imagined making him some form of psion or otherwise mage that specializes in mind control and manipulation, or possibly a psion with weapons so i wont be useless against constructs (split the difference for versatility maeby?) Anyone have any advice or ideas? (also yes I know i am that type of player who will make a DM rip his hair out but trust me i can write well enough to make a chaotic good mindflayer work.)
