Special Effects - Lightning Bolt and range

I know I could use a token to get a lightning bolt effect, but thought it might be kinda nice to add a lightning bolt fx for the fx engine.  Also would really love it in the format of custom effects if we could increase the distance.  Problem I saw was that a "dragon's breath" will go same distance for all dragons.  Whereas according to the monster manual 5e the wrymling is 15 feet, young is 30 feet, adult is 60 feet, and ancient is 90 feet.  Hoping for input!
