The Maladon United Adventurers (also known as MUA) is hereby founded. The list of current members are as follows: Grigor Payne - Chairman and originator of the idea Ironside the Elf - Founding member paid 50 gold into MUA to provide the initial funds Blunder Battlehammer - Founding member Bort - Founding member Ivilion - Founding member Rath - Founding member Charter: The purpose of MUA is to ensure that the possessions and wealth of adventurers are not lost upon death. Instead it can be put towards expenditures serving the common good of all adventurers. Presently the founds collected by MUA will ONLY be used for providing loans for starting adventurers who are fresh off the boat. In the future, the collected funds may be used for other purposes in accordance with the goal of helping the adventuring community of Maladon. But only after approval of Maladon authorities and a vote of current members of MUA. For now we only exist to provide loans.  Who can become a member of MUA? Any Maladon adventurer who signs up to join. During this signup a last WILL AND TESTAMENT is automatically created naming MUA as the sole beneficiary. As such MUA the organization will inherit the full estate of a member upon their death. Items and other possessions will be sold off at fair market value to members of the adventuring community. All full members are required to name MUA as their next of kin. How to become a member of MUA? Simply sign up and with this sign up you agree and declare that you name Maladon United Adventurers as your next of kin in your official will.  More importantly, MUA will demand that employers pay out fees for all their members, should they perish in service of an employer trying to complete a quest. If an employer hired 7 people for a large sum of gold each he should not be able to get away with paying only two of them if the others make the ultimate sacrifice in service of the quest. The precedent for this is already established with the Bearer's Guild. If a bearer should die on a mission this does not mean payment can be denied. MUA will fight so that adventurers might enjoy the same rights as the Bearers joining them on missions. Once someone joins as a member of MUA they are allowed to make a donation, though this is not at all required to sign up.  The only requirement to joining MUA is to have a LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT, which names MUA as the next of kin. This is included in the signup process, once you sign up no further action is required on your part.     Terms of loans to be published later. Loans handed out at a first come first served basis by simple application and are granted in an automatic fashion. MUA is now seeking more members, donations and loan applications by beginner adventurers.
Current total wealth of MUA that can be loaned out : 50 gold. Terms of a loan: Loans are handed out on a first come first served basis (the first person who fits the criteria - level 1 - agreeing to the terms) is granted the loan amount without any questions. The current maximum loan per person is 25 gold. Loans currently can only be taken out before going out on a mission and should be repaid if possible at the end of mission. The loans are interest free but there is a condition: The adventurer taking out the loan must name MUA as the next of kin temporarily. However this is only for the duration of the mission for which a loan was taken out for. Once the loan was repaid, the adventurer may name a next of kin of their choice.

Rath agrees, declares, and signs up for a 25 gold loan.
Remaining gold to be loaned out to applicants: 25 gold
Due to a donation of 6 gold the total wealth that can be loaned out is 31 gold. The source of the donation is rumored to be Argus or Udrin. What could be determined that the donation possibly arrived from one of the businesses in town after they made a sale. available: 31 gold
Rath returns the 25g and a 5g donation.

Ironside proposes that since there was very little interest in loans so far, the terms should be improved with immediate effect as follows: Change the definition of new adventurer to include slightly more people (OOC up to level 2 chars). And the maximum loan amount available to any one applicant to be raised to 50 gold per person. (you can also take out less if you need less, but not more, per person). Other terms are unchanged. If there are no objections to these changes he will offer to donate another 50 gold to MUA to get them passed. (if someone objects the changes won't happen but he will not donate the 50 gold in that case. Note that the new rules would allow members who are not over level 2, including Ironside to take out an 50 gold loan if they go on a mission and they need the money) (You still have to post in this thread if you take out a loan this way so we can keep track of the available gold that remains- and you still either have to join MUA or name MUA as your next of kin for the duration of the loan) Total available gold amount to be loaned out to new adventurers (levels 1-2) 61 gold       + 50 gold if there are no objections to the proposed changes.
On the 29th of Quickern Grigor Payne arrives back at Haven and sees this proposal and that there were no objections to it, so the proposal is pretty much accepted at this point. He also brought back some weapons which are temporarily stored at the MUA guild hall, a small building that is being renovated, but doesn't serve much use, just as a storage space and to meet when the members have something important to discuss.  Upon arriving back to Haven, Grigor Payne also has a proposal for the 9 companies. He proposes that after every adventurer who falls in battle, the companies should donate 10 gold pieces to increase the amount of funds amount available for new adventurers.  That amount is currently  111 gold that is available to be loaned out, one person can take a maximum loan of 50 gold, provided they are not higher than level 2.

This proposal is accepted by the Companies provided that the money from MUA is placed in trust with a reputable banking house in Haven. From now on, whenever there is a PC death, the MUA gains 10 gp towards equipping new adventurers by offering them cheap loans.
