A few questions regarding setting up businesses

1. Do you use Business Quality levels to calculate the amount of XP needed to level up a business? For example, if my business is Struggling (level 1), would I need spend 150XP to level it up? Or would I need to use the xp needed to buy a feat for the current level of my character? 2. If characters are currently used to determine business level up costs, would it be reasonable to instead have a business-specific chart of XP to spend that doesn't rely on character level?  3. If you pay 1000gp to start a business in the Upper City, can you start running your business right away or do you need some time to set it up? 4. How much would it be reasonable to pay to have our business start at Fledgling level instead of Struggling? 5. Can we upgrade or build a business faster if we hire another PC or NPCs? If so, by how much faster per PC/NPC? How much would it cost to hire NPCs? Thanks

Clarence; that doc is a draft, so apologies for anything that is unclear 1) It is indeed Business Quality level that determines XP spends; not character level. 2) a chart might be useful 3) A business always needs one month to set up regardless of starting location or quality 4) Fledgling would cost 300 gp of investment Additonally; note that the major danger to a business in Maladon (Fire/arson) can be reduced to almost 0 by paying protection to one of the gangs proactively; i.e. before you roll an event on the business events table. You will have pay the thugs 10% of profits but ignore all fire/arson results. If you wait until you roll it then the cost is indeed d100 gp
Thank you for the answers! I'm sure it hasn't really come up before, with the recent rise in interest for setting up a business I felt it'd be useful to find out.
