The pass system now works as follows:In the past, adventure Passes allowed PCs to set missions etc but the system is no longer fit for purpose. We used to have various categories of passes but these are hereby abolished and a new system instituted. Inspired by the Olympics, henceforth I and the other Co-DMs will award Gold, Silver and Bronze Passes for players, as follows: Bronze Passes 1) Bronze Passes are awarded for role-playing (including text based RP), for good attendance or for helping around the site. For every 10 times a player signs up for a game, arrives on time, and does not get a Yellow Card, they will be granted a Bronze Pass. Two Bronze Passes are awarded to all new players who enter Maladon. They are played automatically in the first two games a new player enters. 2) Bronze Passes allow a player automatic entry at Tier 1; though the game does count against their tier count for determining their Tier for future games. 3) A Bronze Pass may be played in any game on this site; including all Co-GM games. 4) Bronze Passes do not allow a player any special input into party composition or to influence the mission choice beyond their normal vote. 5) A Bronze Pass must be played within the legal sign up phase of a game and can be played in any game (including CoGM games). Silver Passes 1) A Silver Pass is awarded for monumental Role-playing, or being really helpful around the site with administration. 2) A Silver Pass grants automatic entry into a game at Tier 1; though the game still counts for the player's sessions played for calculating their tier. 3) A Silver Pass allows the player who plays it to set the mission they want to tackle. 4) A Silver Pass allows the player who plays it to veto (but not choose) characters who go on the mission; i.e. if a player signs up but their character is considered unsuitable, the Silver Pass player can force them to play another character (or create a new one if one is not available). Silver Passes do not allow a player to veto a player. 5) A Silver Pass must be played before signups open or more preferably before the next mission sign-up even gets posted. This allows for GM's to prep for the mission earlier and for players to decide if they also want to sign up for the special mission and create a new PC if you provide a requirement of no Evil/Good characters and they do not meet this. These can be played in any game (including CoGM games). Gold Passes 1) Gold Passes are awarded only to CoGMs or for a vital story thread based RP that is central to the main campaign. 2) A Gold Pass can be played in any game (including Co-Gms games). 3) A Gold Pass can be used to ask a GM to run a game when none is planned; provided the GM is available. Obviously, this requires negotiation but allows urgent missions to be forced into play. 4) A Gold Pass allows the player playing it to automatically join a game at Tier 1; thought the game still counts against their tier count. 5) A Gold Pass allows the player playing it to handpick the mission, the players and characters on the mission. They have complete control over party composition. They may also pick the campaign date provided it would not advance the timeline more than 1 month. It can be used to force a mission in the past but cannot contradict the canon timeline. 6) A Gold Pass can be played like a Silver Pass; in order to set what type of PCs can or can't go on mission, (e.g. I want an evil party so Cain is not allowed). If played in this way it must be played before signups open or preferably before the game is announced by speaking to the GM. 7) A Gold Pass also allows you to choose the people/PC's you would like to go on the mission but this must be worked out with the GM you wish to run the mission before their next game is announced. This is to avoid players signing up and being first in line to play to just have a gold pass played and be booted out because they were not selected.

All Co-GMs are immediately granted one Gold Pass; including Sloth Clarence, Hairy Otter and Sam are awarded a Bronze Pass for helping with the absence system.
i.e. if a player signs up but their character is considered unsuitable can you give me an example of that and how that works. like do we use meta knowledge like if some ones playing a evil pc but has not made that general knowledge to pc's but some one with a silver pass doesn't what them there or how is this going to work

PCs in the same company are likely to be able to guess the alignments of other characters if they both live in the Company Chapterhouse; these people spend years together out of session sometimes and so it is impossible for someone to completely disguise their true nature if they are around people 24/7 But I would suggest people who want 'no evil or no good characters' will just hire the Red Dragons or the Thieves Guild to screen people with their alignment spells.............. For Silver Passes if someone vetoes your character they just say 'you can't bring Cain' and then Sloth would have to use or roll up another character. For Gold passes the party leader playing the pass chooses who is going on the mission. Likely their choice will be positive rather than negative; i.e. I want Marokin, Cain, Von, Raven etc
that seems a little unfair to let people just say no you cant bring your PC like it might be the case that that is the only pc you have that you can bring because of the danger level. like if they have a good reason for it like past cases of the pcs not getting along or causing trouble then sure but if its just like i don't want you on this mission and i know non of your other pcs will survive the mission its kind forcing them out of the game or making them kill a pc. or am i comleatley misunderstanding

A Silver Pass is meant to stop PCs from playing characters that might upset another player's big moment. Imagine if you have an important character moment, like the session where Cain got his hammer, yet everyone was basically failing to honour that moment and was just trying to loot the tomb. Or those players whose characters just rob every fallen PC they can when one character is trying to roleplay grief and sadness at the death of another comrade. Conversely, this also allows players to lock out characters they consider overly serious when they want to have a fun game and just rob everything and be stupid. I like both types of games and would like to see players satisified. We have a big problem in Maladon where serious players and players who like fooling around always end up together. This is a way of trying to give each side some breathing room from the other. This is a way of allowing birds of a feather to flock together. But passes will not be common and I will not be giving them out often, so I don't expect this to be a serious issue. It should not affect the day to day running of Maladon. 90% of sessions will operate the same as usual.

And in case you didn't know mate; the Silver Pass is basically identical to the normal adventure pass we have been using since session 20. The change is the Gold Pass and the Bronze Pass.
ok cool that answers the question and consers i had  i had thank you

If that's the reference i'm thinking of, then to be fair it was not mentioned either in or out of character until after the very moment it actually came up. To my memory I certainly didn't know about it going in and its hard to honour a character moment you don't know about, though it was a long time ago. Communication is something i think has been an issue before and should be something to keep in mind even with passes.

@Zil Indeed; it is perfectly permissible (and possibly advisable) for the player playing a pass to talk with all participants beforehand to try and explain what they are trying to achieve in terms of character or story progression with the pass mission. This must include the GM too; though note that I will often honour the spirit rather than the letter of what I am told to do so that the mission does not devolve into predictability.
Some edits to playing the gold and silver passes have been made to make sure less issues come from them being played in the future.
