New to Roll20 with some Macro / Token / Sound Cloud questions. (More Questions Coming Soon!)

I have only been working with Roll20 for 3 days now, give or take. I've watched the Crash Course videos on YouTube and skimmed over the Wiki. And now that I have started setting up my Savage Worlds Rifts campaign, I have a few specific questions, at least to start with. Looking at the dice macros I have set up for the players, I would like to rearrange them to: D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20, MD4, MD6, MD8, etc. How would I do that? Is there a way to hide the macro bar in a fashion similar to the icons found on the Windows taskbar? Click it to minimize the macros into a single icon and click it again to expand them rather than having the bar "shown" or "hidden"? Is there a way to snap the tokens to the grid? I know they can be resized but it would be nice if they were automatically resized to match the appropriate grid space. 1 square for humans, 2 squares for large creatures, 4 squares for huge creatures, etc. I have chosen a sound effect (Before the Storm) to play when the campaign loads and have checked to ensure that I had saved those changes but when I load the campaign on the start page, the selection doesn't play. Any ideas why that might be? Thanks in advance for any advice, tips or tricks you may have to offer. I am certain that more questions will arise as I dig deeper into the Roll20 features and really appreciate any help the community has to offer.

And now that I have started setting up my Savage Worlds Rifts campaign, I have a few specific questions, at least to start with. Savage Worlds Rifts sounds familiar... did I talk to you at GenCon? Looking at the dice macros I have set up for the players, I would like to rearrange them to: D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20, MD4, MD6, MD8, etc. How would I do that? I'm guessing you have those dice setup as macros and have ticked on the "Show as Token Action" checkbox. &nbsp;Unfortunately, the order of Token Actions can't be guaranteed when mixing Abilities and Macros in the Token Action Bar. &nbsp; However, you can put them in the Macro Bar and they will always be accessible and ordered how you like. &nbsp; See:&nbsp; <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Macros#Macro_Bar" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Macros#Macro_Bar</a> &nbsp; Is there a way to hide the macro bar in a fashion similar to the icons found on the Windows taskbar? Click it to minimize the macros into a single icon and click it again to expand them rather than having the bar "shown" or "hidden"? There isn't any way to do that built into Roll20. &nbsp; However, you can setup a Javascript Bookmarklet in your browser to do this quite easily: javascript:$('#showmacrobar').click() Just put that in as a bookmark and add it to your quick bar. &nbsp;Any time you choose it, it will toggle the MacroBar on and off. Is there a way to snap the tokens to the grid? I know they can be resized but it would be nice if they were automatically resized to match the appropriate grid space. 1 square for humans, 2 squares for large creatures, 4 squares for huge creatures, etc. I'm assuming you mean having the size of a token "stick" for a character. &nbsp; So, if you have a human, they are a 1x1, if you have a giant that is 3x3, they are 3x3 every time you drag them into the table. &nbsp; If you size a token and then assign it as the Default Token on a character, it will be sized the same when you drag it back in. See:&nbsp; <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Journal#Default_Token" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Journal#Default_Token</a> See: <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Linking_Tokens_to_Journals" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Linking_Tokens_to_Journals</a> I have chosen a sound effect (Before the Storm) to play when the campaign loads and have checked to ensure that I had saved those changes but when I load the campaign on the start page, the selection doesn't play. Any ideas why that might be? Are you saying you've chosen it to play for a particular page using&nbsp; Play on Load or that you've just added it to the&nbsp; Jukebox ? &nbsp;Play on Load will take effect for each player that is on a given page. &nbsp;Adding to the Jukebox will just make it easily available, you'll need to start it playing when needed. (I'm unsure if it will continue to play the next time you load the Game if you had it playing the last time.) Thanks in advance for any advice, tips or tricks you may have to offer. I am certain that more questions will arise as I dig deeper into the Roll20 features and really appreciate any help the community has to offer. Definitely ask whatever you like about using Roll20 or playing your chosen game on it! &nbsp; And certainly clarify whatever I've misunderstood above. =D
Savage Worlds Rifts sounds familiar... did I talk to you at GenCon? - Sorry it wasn't me but I imagine Savage Rifts has been a pretty hot topic in the roleplaying community for fans of the original setting and Savage Worlds. &nbsp; See:&nbsp; <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Macros#Macro_Bar" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Macros#Macro_Bar</a> &nbsp;Yes, I do have the set up as macros and the tokens ticked on "Show as Token Action". I do have the dice in the macro bar (at the bottom) and they are ordered as I want them. Cool. Thanks for the info and the javascript! I do have the token in the image linked to a character sheet. I will go in an set the size. (I'm unsure if it will continue to play the next time you load the Game if you had it playing the last time.) Yes, I chose the start up page and clicked on the cog to go into settings. I set the jukebox option to play on page load for that page but so far, I haven't heard it playing. Now if I go directly to the Jukebox and look at my playlist, I can click on the file there and it plays as it is supposed to. Definitely ask whatever you like about using Roll20 or playing your chosen game on it! &nbsp; And certainly clarify whatever I've misunderstood above. =D Thanks for the detailed response to my questions. It is greatly appreciated!

You might need to have the player ribbon or a split party member (you) on that page to trigger it playing. &nbsp; If you just click it as the GM, I don't believe it will start playing. &nbsp; If both of the above are true already and it's still not playing (verify in the jukebox that it shows up in the now playing section), you might need to open a bug report. &nbsp;=/ Definitely ask whatever you like about using Roll20 or playing your chosen game on it! &nbsp; And certainly clarify whatever I've misunderstood above. =D Thanks for the detailed response to my questions. Regarding the "Play On Load" song, it will play when the Player Ribbon is on that page and someone loads the game starting on that page (Note: It does not play for the GM if the GM is on another page when the game loads). &nbsp; It will also play when you drag-drop the Player Ribbon onto that page. &nbsp; As GM when testing your "Play On Load" song, just put your own GM view on that page, and then drag the Player Ribbon onto that page, this should trigger the sound and show the GM that it is working. (confirming as The Aaron said in post above).
Ah okay. I still need to get my group (once local friends that have since moved to different parts of the country but still want to RP) signed up for Roll20 and get them on the start page.
Okay, I have another question. If I wanted to add a comprehensive list of all the feats, skills, powers, etc. to my campaign in Roll20 and have it be easily accessable / searchable by all players, what would be the best way to set that up? I looked at character sheets and thought maybe handouts would be the way to go creating X number of index cards but I'm probably missing a much easier solution.

Handouts is probably the best way to go. &nbsp;Without the API, I don't think there is a way to provide searching capabilities for players. &nbsp; With handouts, you could pop them up for a specific player or all players if it's something they need to see, but for general searches they'll have to rely on the ordering and folders you've put them in.
I can't figure out how to round down this macro. I've tried moving the floor command and different brackets. Basically, I want the rolls inline. The player enters the "Total Damage" (Which I will probably change to a roll variable or character reference later.) Then subtract the targets "Toughness", add any "Armor Piercing" qualities that the weapon might have and divide the whole thing by four. (In Savage Worlds, every 4 points above the target's Toughness equals 1 wound.) This is as close as I have gotten to having the macro right: Wounds [[floor(?{Total Damage|0} -?{Toughness|0}+?{Armor Piercing|0})/4]] Using set values of: Total Damage = 36 Toughness = 24 Armor Piercing = 3 ... I get a result of 3.75 when it should just be 3. What am I doing wrong?

You are currently doing the math except for the division (which usually creates the non-round result) as part of the rounding, by simply moving the closing ')' to the end you should be set (putting the original formula in brackets before the division helps get that result prior to the division too): Wounds [[floor( ( ?{Total Damage|0} -?{Toughness|0}+?{Armor Piercing|0} ) /4 ) ]]
Thanks for the help Ziechael. I really appreciate your spacing the operation out so I could more easily see the correct order. I was trying to reach way back to my school days and work with the order of operations. Putting the bracket after the / 4 was leading me to believe that the (Armor Piercing value would be divided by 4) instead of the entire formula because the + sign in front of Armor Piercing has a lower value than division. I hope that makes sense. It sounds confusing to me and I'm the one that typed it. ;) I've been all over the internet studying macros for Roll20 and some of it is sticking, some of it isn't. Hopefully I will get to the point wher I can explain the basics to my players before the campaign begins.

It's all part of the learning curve and trust me, we've all been there! Always happy to help, as is the majority of this awesome community. The main thing I tend to do is overdo my syntax to make sure things work as intended, the () surrounding the main formula keeps all that together so that the result is divided by 4 which in and of itself is all contained within the floor() to round it out. Remember as well that you can also nest inline rolls [[ ]] if needed to really keep things how you want them, especially useful for rolling a number of dice that can be variable: [[ [[ @{selected|str-mod} ]]d6 ]] for example :) My stuff is likely clunky and messy compared to the genius of someone like Silvyre but hey, it gets the job done lol. Happy rolling!
I can deal with clunky and messy as long as it works. :)
Hello Everybody. :) I have been studying, researching and testing a number of things in both Savage Worlds and Roll20 and it has prompted ed a new question. Savage Worlds has a fairly short list of Skills (23 Total) and I am wondering if there is a way to set up the skills with queries to look at individual character sheets. What I would like to do is set up a single macro called "Fighting" for example. Tom has a Fighting skill of D4 while Heather has a Fighting skill of D10. I would want the macro to reference the character sheet of the player pressing the button so if Tom presses it, the macro rolls a D4 for him and if Heather presses it, it will roll a D10 after pulling the Fighting scores from their individual character sheets. Is this possible?
