I'm not sure if I'm the only one dealing with this or there's a way around, but whenever I go into spells to add a new spell and change the @{repeating_spells_$X_spell_level} it deletes the spell.
Switch to the level tab for whatever level you just changed it to. It isn't deleting them, it is moving them to the proper spell level tab. I agree that it needs to alert you to that fact or move you to that tab with the spell.
