This week sees the release of a giant Corn Maze! It's popular thing, at least here in the US, for farmers to make mazes out of their Corn fields during the harvest season, and turn them in to an attraction for tourists and visitors. This set works well for any fantasy or modern setting where characters might visit a farm. The set also works fairly well as just a straight up hedge maze. If anyone ever wanted to created a triwizard tournament challenge, here's your opportunity! I've taken the time to make certain that not only are there assets in the set to allow GMs to create very detailed maps that are 100% customized from scratch, but that there are also twenty or so 16x16 and 24x24 premade options available for GMs that just want to insert a maze super quick into their maps without having to do much. Heck, using the 24x24 maps and lining them up side by side, like in the image below, allows you to make very huge labyrinths very quickly. The image below shows six of the premade maps pieced together to create a 48x72 unit map. GMs can customize the large premade maps by adding single wall segments to block off certain passages or to just increase the thickness of the walls. The premade maps are designed to provide by default enough space in the passages for characters to fight potential enemies. As much as I love the above map, I think this set works at its best when it's combined with Dynamic Lighting. In my mind, hedge mazes should be very creepy locations, and dynamic lighting helps make the whole thing feel more claustrophobic, which in my opinion is essential to the mood of a maze. In the last couple of week I've been on the forums. A couple folks have asked for a world-builder themed hex set that can be used to create overhead maps of continents and such. I'm still investigating the best way to go about making that. There's also been a request for a more robust map pack of sailing ships. I've made initial steps towards making that a possibility for me to create. I haven't forgotten about the halfling miniatures set or the other projects. It's all just a matter of being in the right mind set to do them properly, so stay tuned, and we'll see how things go.
