Help Setting Default Tokens

Hello, decently new to roll20 and been trying to figure out default tokens the entire time with no luck. I've tried following two guides for this

Still with no luck.
To my understanding, I should be placing a token on the map, filling in the health bars and permissions, then opening character sheets and setting the selected token as the default. After doing this the sheet updates but when I drag the token on to the map it's still blank. Not quite sure what I'm doing wrong as I've reread both forums multiple times with no luck.

When you edit the Character after following those instructions, do you see the Token on it in the Default Token (Optional) section?

ok ok i got it, it was just my own stupidity i was dragging the wrong things on to the screen. had another GM friend help me out to figure out what i was doing wrong
