Question about Spell Macros - If/When Programming

Hi guys, I've just started getting into GMing and was thinking about using the roll20 VTT. I want to play Titansgrave from the Fantasy AGE system. The thing is this: if attempting to cast a spell, you roll 3d6 and apply your modifyers. No problem with creating that macro. Then, if successful, you roll for damage. Also, no problem. My question is this: Is there a way to write a macro, that basically goes: Roll 3d6+mod. If result<target: no effect, else You deal [[1d6+1]] damage. Is there any way to create such a macro? I've looked into this , but honestly don't quite understand it. Every help will be appreciated =)

Try /r [[(3d6+mod)<?{target|0}]]*[[1d6+1]] If it is a successful attack, will return 1 from the 3d6+mod section which will give you damage output, otherwise you'll get 0 which will just resolve the whole thing to 0. Although, if I remember how the system works from watching Titansgrave, you need to see the d6 rolls of the attack for stunt points, so you may be better served by just making a macro to display both regardless (and then just ignore the damage if it isn't a hit). Alternatively, you could separate it out into two macros and use an ability or API command button to call the damage macro placed at the end of your attack macro.

ah, thanks Silvyre, I always confuse when parentheses are ok and when brackets are needed.
Thank you for the quick answer =) You guys helped me a lot. But I think you switched around > and <. because as you said it, it didn't quite work, but the final form /roll [[{[[3d6]]+4+d0}>?{target|11}]]*[[1d6+1]] works well. So thank you again. But indeed Scott C, with this macro I don't see the stunt die, so I have to think about something else =) Still, your help is very much appreciated.
Just had an idea and fixed it a little. If I use this formula /roll [[{[[1d6]]+[[1d6]]+[[1d6]]+4+d0}>?{target|11}]]*[[1d6+1]] it has 3 seperate rolls and I can see the result, thus seeing the stunt-die value. Again, thank you guys very much =)

Woops sorry about that Dominick, and that is a nice workaround since you never roll more than 3d6 in the AGE system, right?
