Question: Roll20 MUST HAVE's for 5e DM & expanding Roll20's utilization in my game:

Hi forum: I've been DMing our 5e game for several sessions now and I want to expand how we use Roll20. Right now character sheets are being done offline and then given to me. Most rolls occur on Roll20 with me generally rolling offline (just quicker). We don't use the in-game macros and though we tried using the character sheets, some of my newer players were struggling a bit too much. We also don't understand why sometimes the dice rolls will show 2 different results when it was just rolled once? I'd like to eventually use the built in character sheet and dice roller, but I noticed several character sheets and am not sure which to use. Anywho, the main question here is what are some of the MUST HAVE's for a 5e DM here? I watched a YouTube video and noticed the DM had the listing of spells and other charts uploaded in his graphic library, so he could pull it out and look at it with his players. Is there anything that I should really have that'll help me with DMing?

Hi Tim! There are lots of resources for 5E. System specific tips and tricks for 5E from the Roll20 wiki, https://wiki.roll20.net/Dungeons_and_Dragons_Next 5th Edition "OGL" character sheet made and maintained by Roll20 Devs, https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/3602544/5th-edit... Roll20's 5th Edition Compendium of rules, https://roll20.net/compendium/dnd5e/BookIndex The reason it shows 2 rolls is for Advantage/Disadvantage mechanic of 5th Edition. I'm sure others will come along to add to this!

Is your game an in person one or totally virtual?
Hi Scott. Well, as of the posting of this it was all virtual, but over this week I just picked up 2 in-person players too. So it's a split, however we will still be using Roll20 for the game map, tokens, and the virtual players will be rolling dice online too -- maybe even the in-person folks as well if I can get them both on their own laptops.

Heh, well, this is embarrassing. I had something that I thought of, and now I can't remember it.
