Callisto's Awakening: A Call to Anyone Who's Interested

I'll be trying to scan and upload my 5E campaign setting materials to Roll20 over the next few weeks if I can. If anyone is interested in playing in a D&D campaign where magic is very new to the world, humans are outcast by all the other races, you'll be seeing some original monsters every so often, and the difficulty is hard , I can keep you posted here. I may or may not run a series of all one-shots where it'll always start your continued character in a new place each time with a new group in a new situation--- as if everyone playing is a sort of wanderer with their own history---able to make connections with characters amongst many groups or quests. And if a number of player characters like each other over time, we could run a mini-campaign or something. Sure, characters may all be at different levels this way, but it could be fun. This might be a good option for players who never know when they're going to be available to play, but will still be able to jump into a session with no strings attached. I'll put up links and a character application thread closer to time. Just throwing this out there. UPDATE:https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/57530/callistos-awakening

Amafray Sormwind said: will half elves be ok? Half elves are mudbloods. I have one in my face-to-face campaign. Legal in game, sure. But mudbloods nonetheless. If you're okay with having your character rarely treated any better than a filthy human, then it's cool with me. New players will never be unwelcome in any of my campaigns. Welcome to the hobby. :)

Hey, sounds like a cool concept man. Wanted to know if I could play a human warlock. I wanted to have the social challenges of being a human, and warlocks are cool. I've been DMing for a good 4 years now, but never really had a chance to be a player.

A human warlock would be a fine choice. Many NPCs will revile you as a filthy human, but also fear and react to you if they ever see you using magic. And man, if you have an itch to play, I'd love to help you scratch it.
so will this basically be like a constantly updating kind of world where no two 'adventures' are the same?
Othaur said: so will this basically be like a constantly updating kind of world where no two 'adventures' are the same? Ideally, yes. I have a sandbox kind of world with lots of locations to explore and things to save the villages, kingdoms, or the world from. In other words, a lot of starting points, for lower level characters especially. If or when there are player characters who've played often enough and lived long enough to get to a decent level--and do things that result in map-changing events, those events could have a far enough reaching affect to influence the campaigns of other players. Running the same one-shots for every group of players could be an option. I could give whoever shows up that option. But if one player had a couple weeks off from work or school and was available to join multiple game sessions in a row(with all new players each time), I wouldn't want to run them through the same scenario twice. That'd be no fun.
I'd be happy to join than, I'm pretty much brand new though, I still haven't really learned entirely how to create a character when it comes to stats. I've got the race/class I want as well as his traits, background, flaw and other things, just his numbers still need to be set up...I'm still pretty clueless with how that's supposed to go

I'd be happy to help you.
Id really appreciate that, I've got the phb so I know the basics and stuff, I've been trying to get involved in a game for a couple weeks now lol, just never found the right match

sounds just like my character she lived in with the elves so she even in the normal world she was treated different and was one of the reasons she went out in to the world to become a ranger. and if your using harry potter logic mudblood where the people who got magical powers when both parents where muggles I was a big harry potter fan if so I would be half-bood like harry if not I'm ok with mudblood.
When will the games take place?
ıf this gonna turn to long time or endless campaing lets create halfling friends or relatives party :P
I like Voynard's idea. Let's make them have a previous relationship at least. Halflings are kind of too novelty though. (I'm thinking one particular novel) Any other ideas? Maybe a group of wood elves who are coming into human society for the 1st time?
maybe high elf mage inspection party to check human lands? elder scroll justificar style :)

Although I'm enjoying the discourse here, the humans in my world do not(or rather, super rarely) have any land of their own or any organized society. Humans are a displaced people. All of the other races know of them and look at them in disgust. Humans are most often either wanderers or laborers in places that will take them in. Human settlements exist, but they are few and far between--being that humans aren't generally educated. There was once a rumor that a human kingdom existed in the world someplace, but no one has any evidence of it. While lands across the world are lorded over by many kinds of creatures, humans lands--as far as anyone knows about--don't actually exist. You can discover whatever semblance of a culture filthy humans have--if you could even call it a culture--when you run into the few of them spread out in various places. Also, halflings just happen to be my favorite fantasy race. If you want to play together as an all halfling party, that would be so cool. Even as family members or something. No pressure from me, though. Everyone should be able to play the kind of character they want to. Regarding the question of when: I'm still scanning/uploading my stuff to roll20. (I draw out all my campaign materials for my face-to-face games.) I'm looking to be ready to run some games around the 20th. :) (Edited because I misspelt a word.)

CN is the master alignment, IMO. "I'm literally down for whatever. If I feel so inclined."
I would like to weigh in here... Goliath Barbarian here.
wa?
I would like to join... as a Goliath Barbarian... if they are allowed.
my character shouts:why damm you why?
The Goliath looks down at you and says: "You got a problem with me? Runt!" lol
Fact: a school of hungry halflings can pick a goliath dry in under 3 minutes.
