Mapping help, please!

Now, a couple of times i've tried to upload an image only to have it not show up. Thinking I was probably doing something wrong, I just decided to go ahead and try tiles I had bought from the marketplace. Nothing deleted, etc etc.&nbsp; Well, I drag and drop and a whole bunch of other stuff. I turn on dynamic lighting, fog of war is on, enforce line of sight is on. Map/Background level is what the tiles are on. Tokens have their own level, and I have a "Test Corpse" token set up for use with "has sight" and even a bit of a light aura just in case. So, I go to test out the map and see if everything is working out, and lo and behold....it shows the token, but not the map itself. Neither the drawn portions, nor the actual tiles. Total blackness. Now, in the other maps...if I load a test, even with dynamic lighting..it works. It seems to be something with the tiles, as near as I can figure. Using Windows 8.1, Google Chrome. Cache is cleared. &nbsp;I don't have any extensions or addons. SO, here's a bug report, and I hope this helps you folks help me out! If you turn FoW off (or use the reveal tool to ensure that the area surrounding the token is 'revealed') and try the same method of testing do you see the map and tiles as expected within the range of the tokens vision?

Wow. I went round and round on this one and forgot all about that. THANK YOU! On a similar related note, is there a wrong way to upload tiles from your computer? Might as well ask about that because trying to use them as a tile doesn't seem to work well. (I imported a sprite picture from Legend of Zelda, Link to the past, but it shows up as black screen.)Any special tricks to getting that to work?

Png file, I forget the size. (I uploaded it ages ago) I used the built in uploader and uploaded it off my computer. It was small in size originally, so I stretched it out to cover something like 100 x 100 or something close to that on the map.

Ah that rings a bell for me now, I've had issues with stretching smaller images to much larger sizes before. It is usually related to the zoom level attempting to render a particular version of the image that would best suit the size/resolution desired. Try zooming all the way out and see if the image renders, if so gradually zoom in, leaving it a few seconds each time until it fails (turns black), at that point please supply a console log as per your original bug report as it would be useful in isolating anything that could be done at the Roll20 side of things. Another thing to check would be to add the image from your library again so that it defaults to the smaller size, that should display fine, gradually stretch it out until it fails if the zoom thing failed to provide the expected results. Also, sorry for the barrage... but, does the image display correctly as the page icon in the page toolbar, an image that size is likely to be the largest image on the page and therefore act as the page icon, if it displays fine there then the issue is likely with the rendering rather than the image itself as mentioned earlier.

Ah, I see. Yeah, as a icon it displays just fine. And from the map screen itself, it shows the image, even to zoom it. So I can make edit as normal on the actual map with no problem. Then...I go to playtest it with my wonderful Test Corpse, and the screen is black. Fog of war: Off. Dynamic lighting: On Force LOS: On Okay, on a hunch I wanted to test something out. It was Dynamic lighting . When the token's aura of light is set to 100 ft/100 ft .........then it works. And now I can see the map, curiously enough, with the token. &nbsp;Which means that I just need to fiddle with the settings some. It didn't work that way before, but you know what? I have zero complaints. It's working now. And that is okay by me, lol.

Ahh, I'm with you now... the image wasn't breaking, it was obscured by the DL!! Yes, the key thing to DL is that there needs to be a light source for the token to actually see otherwise they will just see themselves (the light source can be themselves too of course...). Here is your definitive guide to&nbsp; Dynamic Lighting , it can be a tricky beast to master but once you do it'll change your game!
