After hunkering down in Kell's bunker for some time, and suffering the smell of socks, Chips decides that it might be worth returning to his apartment to try and retrieve more valuables. With their current items they are short on supplies and money. They make their way stealthily to an abandoned building across the way from Chips and Nes' apartments. But Nes is not stealthy and is too well known. Two people guarding the door to the apartments see him. They quickly summon three others from within and all of them approach the abandoned shop the group had entered. Nes and Buster quickly barricade the door. The thugs claim that they just want to talk, but the group refuse to let them enter. The thugs then smash their way through the barricade and into the room where a fight ensues. The thugs all have identical numenara - some sort of weapon with a needle on the end. Both Chips and Buster are stabbed and fall unconscious, but Nes is able to disarm the thugs of the three other devices and stab their owners who also fall unconcious. The two remaining thugs flee. It takes an  hour for all the unconcious people to come round. The group question the (now tied up) thugs who reveal that they were employed by the owner of the Arena, Jargo Hud. It appears that Jargo feels that Nes and Chips have been cheating somehow - something involving gas. He would like to talk with them. The group decide that this would not be wise, and that they would be best to get away before re-inforcements arrive. Chips decides that they are not going to get anywhere without resources, and that his old supplier, Dracogen, may be able to help him. They make their way to Dracogen's building where they are shown in and taken into an elevator going to the penthouse. There they meet Dracogen who already seems to know much of their tale. Chips is wary of telling Dracogen the whole tale, and especially wary of revealing the map. But Dracogen seems to have a way of spotting deceit and of drawing the truth out of anyone. Before long Dracogen is aware of all the issues and opportunities facing the group. He informs them that he is there to help, and he promises to provide haven from their enemies, then resources and transport to get them to the place located on their treasure map. However his largess does come with a price. The heroes agree to: Owe Dracogen a favour. This is undefined and to be paid at a later date. Return to Mulen in the future, and allow Dracogen to examine any Numenera they have discovered. This will involve him taking it for a few days, but he promises to return it when his studies are done. The group are wary of this, but agree to it. They stay for a few days, eating and drinking well. They are then provided with a weeks food each, and the group are provided with 4 identical jet packs. All with 4 hours fuel. They are then smuggled to a marteling whale that is in port. This village on the back of a whale will be their transport.  They are greeted by the captain, George Marteling, who looks after them well for the journey. He is delivering luxury foodstuffs to a small town called Sulen which is about to have a festival. He encourages the group to travel all the way to the festival, but the group are focused on exploring the airborne city on their treasure map.  The group get on very well with the captain, and are sad to part with him. But eventually they see the flying city, with a thin pillar anchoring it into the sea, and they don their jetpacks and fly up towards it.
