Name: Asori Alder Sex: Female Race: Human Age: 17 Time period: 100-200 years before the clone wars Good at: Slicing computers, fast talking, mind tricks Background Was an orphan on the streets of Corellia where she quickly discovered a knack for convincing people to part with credits and a seemingly instinctual gift with computers. She was manipulated into believing a treaty negotiation was cover for a treatures move against the corellian people by a corrupt politician and used her slicing skills to help try to prevent the negotiations from being completed. A jedi assisting with the negotiations tracked them down and upon finding a misguided force sensitive child rather than a malicious criminal recruited her to the order. While the first few years of her life were governed by the policy of “if it takes more than ten words to explain how it benefits me I’m leaving” the later half of her childhood was strongly influenced by her master and his odd mix of wookie honor and jedi teachings. The end result is her tendency to defer to those she believes have a firmer grasp of morality and being highly conflicted when forced to make such decisions on her own. Had she not joined the jedi order the politicians she had angered with her slicing would have had her spending a very long time in jail alongside those she helped. She often wonders if her master pushed so hard for the council to accept her despite being barely young enough for consideration purely to save her this fate. Despite having not returned to the planet since joining the order she is still very proud of her corellian heritage and thus, to her master annoyance, follows the correllian tradition of wearing green robes. She tends to be very outspoken, often to the point of being reprimanded for it. Her master’s most common complaint is that she needs to listen to the force more often then the sound of her own voice. Goals Become a jedi knight. Help bring the corellian jedi out of isolation and rebuild their ties to the rest of the order. (In the rebellion era this would likely become a desire to rebuild the green jedi order.) Player goal: Would be pretty fun later on to see her trying to train a student of her own. Secrets She’s been slicing the computers at the jedi temple for years to prevent an older model droid she befriended from being memory wiped or replaced. She has also had the droid assigned to her and her master’s missions on a few occasions when she thinks the mission will have them away from the temple for a prolonged period of time. (Unknown to Asori) in the rebellion era her master survived the purge and is still alive, though he is most likely in hiding. People Jedi Master Dryithodrrl is the one that found her on corellia and brought her to the order. The wookie often checked on her during her first years at the temple and eventually chose to take her as his padawan. K1-NG was an older model droid that she met as a child shortly after reaching the temple. Having missed its most recent memory wipe by chance she found the droid to be extremely quirky compared to the other droids (and students) at the temple. Being used to the more independent attitude of most of her friends back home she quickly became attached to the droid as a source of comfort. Ranna Novar was an up and coming crime boss when Asori still lived one corellia. She was the one who convinced Asori to assist with the slicing attacks that brought her to Dryithodrrl’s attention and when she was the only one involved who did not spend time in jail Ranna became convince Asori sold the rest of them out. While Asori was learning to be a jedi Ranna was rebuilding her burgeoning criminal empire and plotting ways to get revenge. Quirks,Memories Has a tendency to not differentiate much between the minds of sentient things and machines, thus tending to view mind manipulations as being the same a slicing and refers to it in such terms. She often thinks back to the day she met her master, when he and a group of corsec officers stormed the small warehouse she and her accomplices were hiding in. She remembers feeling the fear that flooded the room at the sight of the lightsaber wielding wookie roaring at them and how quickly her own fear vanished when the firing stopped and the large sentient coaxed her from her hiding place. She once had the less than amazing idea of trying to add a droid brain to her lightsaber. She still remembers the rather explosive results of that attempt and the many hours of meditation she was assigned afterwards to reflect on why this was not an appropriate alternative to practicing her lightsaber forms.
