Preparing Defenses

You should decide what you need, you have about 2 weeks, which will complete Bruenor's practice. Give it some thought and look over the town. make any changes you wish. You can draw whaere you want defenses built.

Would it be possible to take the dynamic lighting off so its easier to see the village as a whole during the week?  I have some questions which Kelyn will ask the villagers through out the week as we are building defenses.   Where do the pirates come from?  Where do they land?  Do they come by sea or by air?  How many pirates are usually in a typical raid?   How many ships?  What are their usual tactics?  Do they use magic?  What kind?  What animals are native to this area?  Bears?  Wolves?   Others?
Not if the group prefers to plan here or in email.  I'll start an email chain too and see which gets the most responses.   Kelyn can call some animals to help defend the village of course that will depend on what type of creatures are available. I can also Call Woodland Beings.   I think Frank should cast Leomonds Secure Shelter for Se Yksi, the children and those who cannot fight to hide in.  If I'm reading the description correctly, it sounds like it would be better and more secure than a regular building.  If necessary, Kelyn can hide it with plant growth.   We could send Se Yksi to the grove for safety.  I'm not sure how easily we can get her back.  I think we should build traps to try to thin out the pirates and possibly funnel them into a choke point type of situation.  We can dig trenches and pits and line them with spikes.  Kelyn can cast Spike Growth and/or Shape Wood or Stone Shape to help with the traps.  She can cast Hallucinatory Forest to hide the traps and/or try to make them go where we want and maybe trap them.  Do we still have the Shovel of Digging?  During the fight she can cast Moonbeam which will give us the light of a moon lit night.  Or Starshine which is similar but not quite as strong.  Moonbean is 5th level which I only have 1 of where Starshine is 3rd and I have 3 of those.  There are a few other 5th levels which maybe useful.   I think Niko might also have access to some of these spells.  I'm not sure what all his permitted spheres are.  And I don't know all of Frank's spells. Other ideas?
