Toggle snap to grid

I've read a bunch of the posts regarding turning the snap to grid feature on and off and wanted to say I would love it. Having the grid visible is great for eyeballing distances without using the ruler for each move, but the snap feature puts tokens in odd places, especially on more organic maps like cave systems and rivers. I've used all of the suggested work arounds, and ALT seems to work best, but it does a funky flicker and redraw each time. I really love what you've done otherwise, and I'm trying to herd my players over here! Thank you!

Could you describe the flicker and redraw? I have not experienced this when using Alt. - Gauss
I'd really like to see a good implementation of a toggle for this feature. None of the workarounds seem to work well at all for me, at least on the laptop which is what I usually use to run the game. Holding ALT seems to have no effect, stuff still just snaps to wherever it wants to go.

In order for ALT to work, you have to make sure you continue to keep the key held down until you're finished moving the image. You don't have to hold onto ALT before you click on an image to move/rotate/scale, but it's necessary to have it held down when you complete your edit in order to prevent the grid snap.
When I release the ALT key after moving a token, my screen goes white for an instant and then everything reappears. So far there have been no other ill effects, but it would be nice to just switch it off and forget about it. (I'm using Internet Explorer wth the Chrome add-on, which may be an issue as well).
I don't get the ALT flicker when I use Google Chrome. Looks like I've found a solution for now.

Ok thanks Mikee, it may be an issue with IE+chrome add-on. - Gauss
