Initiative window doesn't auto refresh/reset on map change

January 12 (12 years ago)
Problem: Initiative window doesn't auto refresh/reset on map change.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
- Preliminary: Have two maps. Have characters on each map.
- Add characters to Turn.
- Change maps, leaving initiative window open.
- Attempt to add another token to Turn.
- Character is not added to initiative list.
- Clear initiative list using the Settings Gear -> Remove All Turns (Clear List).
- Attempt to add same token to Turn.
- Character is still not added.
- Click on Turn Order button to turn off turn order window.
- Click on Turn Order button again to turn window back on.
- New characters attempted to be added should show up in the list.

Resolutions Suggestions/Ideas:
- Have Turn Order screen auto-refresh on map change.
- Have Turn Order independent of map, allowing you to have a 'rolling turn order' for the campaign.

My configuration (For the sake of complete-ness):
- Browser: Chrome 23.0.1271.101
- OS: MacOS X 10.6.8 Intel (running x64 kernel)

Note, I'll happily make a video of this behavior if you have difficulty reproducing it. Thanks!

If you close the Turn Order window and reopen it it resets. I have been producing this as well and I just close and open the Turn Order window and re-add the tokens.

Posting a Bug Report though.

So, this isn't a bug, so much as just "the way it works right now, which may not be optimal."

Currently, the Turn Order is a list that is page-dependent. So you can't add things from multiple pages to the same Turn Order. However, we don't have it auto-clear when you switch pages because you may want to go to a different page during a battle to prep (for example), and still keep track of what's going on turn-order wise with the battle on the active page for the players.

What we're probably going to do in the near future is just remove the page dependency and make the turn order list literally just a list of text objects, so you can add tokens to it, or even cards, or even just arbitrary text. When we do that this won't be an issue anymore.

Hope that helps explain how it currently works.
