Mutants and Masterminds Anyone? "Break of Day"

I'm looking to start a Mutants and Masterminds 3e group with anyone willing. The main setup was this. "A hero has fallen. The Freedom League has lost one of their own in a battle against a enemy they didn't see coming. Daedalus. The Immortal Hero was slain by an enemy of immense power. An enemy known as Aeon the Deathless. His origins are unknown, but what is known is that he is the single most powerful enemy the Freedom League has every faced. The worst part is...He's disappeared without a trace. With his dying breath, Daedalus foresaw a future ruled by Aeon, a dark world where free will would be no more, and all heroes would be persecuted. With the Freedom League beaten, and nearly destroyed, Freedom City needs new "heroes" to look towards. A new dawn has arrived." or something like that. If this story really doesn't interest anyone, or they have additions that would make it better tell me. I'm open to suggestion. I would, of course, be using the Mutants and Masterminds 3rd Edition rules, So at least owning the player handbook would be a requirement. Though I am not shunning beginners. If you are a beginner who would like to get into M&M, I can help you out before or after a session. So if anyone is interested in superheroic, or anti-heroic for that matter, antics, I'd love to start a group up. So far no specific dates set, but It would have to be either Friday-Sunday (11 a.m. or later PST) I'm open to any dates between those times. https://app.roll20.net/join/68759/TfjL3g Check it out there!
Playing, sounds okay. At least someone is running. Too many bendy bits for a story guy. Can't really get any game of any genre off of the ground. Sounds like a 'clue.'
M&M is much less painful than HERO anyways, and more flexible. The 'no goodies for disads unless they come into play' is much better as well, for many reasons.

I definitely agree with you, I'm a big fan of the more simplistic M & M for combat, and storytelling reasons. If you're interested, I won't turn you away ^.^
Do you use 'hero lab' or the like? I'm more of a story dude myself. I burn out on rules and number crunching very quickly. Rules minimalist GM wise. Playing isn't such a big deal, but most people like tons of crunch, loads of 'licky-chewies' rules wise. Probably why I never end up running anything. You get less of the 'you're doing it wrong' with M& M though. You know what I mean? You intend to build one thing, then, hours later, you find out you built something else entirely. You may wish to note, that the hero lab folks are coming out with their own version of roll20, with built in hero-lab support, to include M&M. Just fyi
Yes! I am also more story oriented over rules. I don't like bogging down a story by having to go through the rules. I am a lot more laid back when it comes to the rules, and thankfully M&M allows for this with ease. If the players are having fun, then I have no problem. Also Thank you for informing me about the hero lab thing! I really only use it when I need a random character on the fly, but this is really fantastic news!
Not to harpoon the locals though. If M&M is your thing though, after most of the bugs have been squashed, a specialized tool is, by definition, more appropriate for its own task. Besides, since r20 is html / browser based, you can probably hop back and forth if you like. Pretty sure the hero lab stuff is google friendly too. More tools for the box. Ftf is, sadly, pretty much a thing of the past.
Oh, for prospects, most if not all of the M&M stuff is for download on DTRPG. e version + r20 seems a good mix. Cheaper too. Multiple formats as well, for most of their stuff.
Hi, my name is Allen. i'm from the Philippines, gmt +8. it's kinda hard to find a decent super hero game on roll20. but because of my time zone, it is also hard to join other gaming groups. i am interested in M&M and would like to play in your group if that's ok. 11 AM PST would mean 11 PM here, Friday and Sunday evening would be great for me. I have an in-person gaming group here and we usually play Saturdays overnight, so i'm reserving that day for them.
I would be very interested in this game. Contact me at traditionalgameplayer@live.com or skype: TheUltimateFiction

I'll probably make the session days Friday then, as I understand group priorities ^.^
Well everyone, how did it go?
