*Naruto Story is an Alternate Univiese* Current Story After three long years the first class of academy student is finally ready to graduate and become an official member of the shinobi society in Konohagakure. This was a big day for everyone involved and even the youngest of children understood what it meant to become a Genin. Putting your life on the line for the greater good of the nation and the protection of the average people were the shinobi main goal. Each Genin was assigned to a squadron which was to be monitored by a Chunin. Starting today every squadron will receive their first mission this was the last test to really see if you have what it takes to be a shinobi! About the GM Hello Im Ryku! Ive been playing pen and paper games for quite so time now and I feel I have my own style to bring to the table. I personally love roleplay and really getting into the setting of the world. I love creating environments for people to not only game but also network and create friendships. Though this is my first Narutod20 game and Im still learning the system I feel more than capable in my abilities to create a world and story that everyone will remember. Character Creation Welcome to the New Player's character creation Guide, this can be found in the book in chapter one but with all the information I (Ryku) feels as though this will help everyone create the ideal character. Creating a character can sometimes be a tricky thing to do, especially using a system so heavily modified as this one. Below are some tips and advice, and the general process rewritten to serve as an aid to new players. Meditation Think about what kind of character you want before you start the creation process. This will save you a lot of time in creation. Think about how they act how they fight and even how they look. If you change your mind mid-way at least you had a plan! Ask Your GM! Always have the GM "ok" the build or direction you wish to send your character in! Not meeting the GM's approval without having him know can cause trouble later on! Starting Level All characters will start at level 1 Ability Scores Generating your ability score is generally done through the point-buy system we will be playing with a 32 point buy. Use this point buy calculator to successfully manage this task. <a href="http://www.propelled.de/extern/chargen" rel="nofollow">http://www.propelled.de/extern/chargen</a> Rules Only 1 stat can be negative and the lowest that one stat can go is 8. No stats can reach over 21 without the help of drugs or temporary points. Race Is your character a normal human, or does he gain special benefit from his ancestor's body manipulation and experiments? Chapter 2 has details on all of the races. You have a choice from Human (normal) and all of the different elemental shinobi races. Normal Humans and Shinobi races get two different amounts of skill points. Banned Races Small, Gigantic and True Blooded are banned from play! Basic Class Choosing what basic class you take first will determine the foundation you will base your character upon. (See chapter 3 for more details.) Only Classes from the naruto d20 official book can be used. Hit Points The amount of hit point a character has is determined by what class he takes. At first level, a character always get maximum hit points from the hit die plus the constitution modifier , but each level after is halved plus the constitution modifier. Chakra Pool and Reserves A character's chakra pool is equal to 2 per level, doubled at first level, plus bonus chakra equal to his Constitution modifier (minimum 0) every level. His chakra reserves are equal to 2 per level. Some classes, feats or abilities grant bonus chakra or bonus reserves, or both. Starting Occupation Most shinobi character choose from the four starting occupations offered in this book: Academy Student, Mentored, Ninja Law Enforcement or Wandering Ninja. What occupation you choose determine the benefits you gain from it Action Points All basic class offer the same number of action points: 5 + half the character's level in the class (rounded down). Skills and Feats Choosing skills and feats can determine what advanced and prestige classes, techniques and later feats are available to you. A character gains skill points every level (times four at 1st level) depending on what class he takes, and one feat at first level plus any bonus his class and occupation may grant. See chapters 2, 3 and 4 for details. Feats Normal Humans get an additional feat at level 1 while the shinobi races only get 1. Wealth Starts at 8 and add whatever bonus your character's starting occupation may grant to determine wealth at first level. Feats and skills, such as windfall and Profession may add to your wealth bonus. Equipment After determining wealth, a character must then spend it on what equipment he can, being mindful of the item's restriction. No rolls are made but if you spend more than you have your character loses some of their wealth bonus. Any time a character purchases an object or service with a purchase DC higher than his or her current Wealth bonus, or one with a purchase DC of 15 or higher, the character’s Wealth bonus goes down. How much the Wealth bonus is reduced depends on how expensive the object is. Object or Service Purchase DC Wealth Bonus Decrease 15 or higher +1 point1 1–10 points higher than current Wealth bonus 1 point 11–15 points higher than current Wealth bonus 4 points 16 or more points higher than current Wealth Bonus. 8 points 1 This stacks with the loss from a Purchase DC above the character’s current wealth bonus. (See chapter 7 for equipment and new items unique to Naruto d20. ) Techniques Finally, a character begins with a number of techniques at 1st level equal to 5. Level 1 characters can only get ranked 1 techniques unless another feature overrides this rule. Tip! Character Picture: This is an anime-fantasy based world, so please make your character a reflection of that. I ask that you don't use action shots for your photo. I’d like to see your perfect face! Background: Characters should have a backstory that brings them to life and fits them squarely into Naruto Story. We ask that any character backgrounds meet the following requirements: Be at least around 3-5 paragraphs long. Work with the lore that is provided on the game. If you feel that the lore does not cover what you need to know for your background, or you want to suggest some implementation to the lore through your back-story, speak with the me about it. The character's personality and goals should be made clear as possible. Personality: Your character should have life to them, and a proper personality that is stuck to while playing the game. This should be at least a paragraph long. (Feel free to take a look here for help with personality traits and types.) Unacceptable writing: While I'm quite open-minded and flexible, there are some things that will simply be denied. Please save me the trouble and try to avoid these. Three to five paragraphs is not a lot. Please give me that much at the least. No, your character has not survived alone in the wilderness since they were a child. What would happen was they were eaten by Beasts, so they're long dead. That is an example of bullshit. DO NOT MAKE ANY CHARACTER THAT IS FROM AN ANIME OR MANGA.
