Add "Name" property to tokens

A short tag that could be displayed on the turn-order list (telling tokens apart isn't very easy, depending), and optionally below the token on the map itself?

Agreed, definitely - a token label should be present on the map (or at least when the radial menu is open).

While maybe not a better alternative, what about pinging tokens as their turn comes up?

I think token labels isn't a bad idea. In addition, if mouse over a token in the initiative list, it should already show a yellow box around that token on the tabletop.

We've got this half-way with the turn list showing token names - is persistent labels on the tokens themselves (even when not selected) still on the menu?

I noticed there's a semi-workaround for GM - only when a token is selected - in that you can enter text instead of numbers for a bar value - so if you can have meaningful labels in 3 chars or less, you can ID a token without going into the edit menu.

Still, persistent display of "name" (with player permissions like bars and auras) would be helpful!

Or if not a persistent display (I could see those getting in the way in a crowded encounter or if characters give themselves long names), then a tooltip-style popup text that displays the token name when you hover the pointer over the tile for a little while.

I like the combo of names/highlighting from the turn tracker, and then if names appeared on mouse over, I'd be a happy camper.
