How do I find a local game?

I've looked for D&D, but get 4am starts, as the GM is very far from local? Also, I've tried to download Chrome, but it crashes, how can I use IE here? (Or stop Chrome download from crashing) I've gone to the "Solving technical issues" page, but that's in French??

Chrome and Firefox are the supported browsers. Unfortunately, troubleshooting the downloading of browsers is outside the scope of what we can help with.  As for finding a group in your timeline, your best bet will be searching with the Looking For Group tool or posting in the Looking For Group forum.

Hello Holly. I'm moved your post to the specific question forum as you were asking questions more than looking for a game. I will be assuming you are looking for a local time zone game in roll20. You can make a  LFG (Looking for Group) post that includes your timezone, the days and time you are able to game, what system you are wanting to play in, and probably a little about yourself (gaming experience, etc..). Filling out your profile with all that information will help GMs, that read the profiles, some also. You can also be proactive and go searching in our  LFG listings for games that are around the time you are seeking also. Make sure you click on show the advanced options so you can select the days and time you are willing to game in and start researching the listed games. When you spot a game that you are interested, click on it and make an interest post. Just remember you are presenting yourself to a GM who has to make a choice between many people interested in a spot also so put your best interview face on and post away. Keep doing this and in time you find a group that is compatible with your interest, gaming style, and general attitude (for the want of a better word). It will take time so you have to be patient and persistent also (almost like job hunting :D ). IE is not supported on roll20. Some people have success with it and others haven't. Chrome download crashing is something that is not under roll20's control so there is nothing we can do to help you technically with that aspect. Did you try downloading chrome from the  official google chrome page ? Solving technical issues is in English but there is also a French page. Apparently you that is the one you found.

Hi Holly.  I completely understand your frustration; you're not the only person in this position. Another regular annoyance on the site is people advertising for players in the LFG section, but putting the wrong start time in the post. Whenever I do find a game that says it starts at the right time (for me in the UK) at least half the time the DM messages back to say "sorry, that time was just a placeholder, were actually playing at 3am your time" (or something similar!). Another section of the DMs don't seem to be interested unless you've got a certain number of hours logged with Roll20. We've all got to start somewhere - everyone on here had zero experience with the site at some stage.  I've been looking for a D&D 5E one-shot or a campaign for about 3 weeks with no luck. I'm not giving up hope though - there have to be other people like me out there in the same time zone. It's just a case of finding them.  Good luck with your search for a group.

Holly,  I can recommend putting your time zone in your Profile so GMs can find it and not waste your time offering spots in games that will start at horrible times in your time zone.
