Does anyone know any Character Portrait artists that take requests?

Or at least a GOOD online character portrait generator please?
I would be interested in this as well
Dammit, I thought I'd got a reply then :D

Have you looked at http://www.deviantart.com/ . There are a lot of artist there and they do commissioned work also.
What's your budget?
You can often find the odd drawthread on the /tg/ board of 4chan. Find one in the catalog or wait for one to show up, and ask nicely. You always get the odd artist who is struck with boredom and decides to do some sketches.
I might beable to draw one for you depending on what sort of portrait do you want anime style, realistic or comic. Do you want colour or black & white. Do you want a detailed background or just a simple one.

Use Hero Machine 2.5 website. At the end, take a screenshot and save that. The website is easy to use once you get "into it". Just click some options and start changing things. You'll see. It is fun. http://www.heromachine.com/heromachine-2-5-charact... I recommend choosing from the 4 body types first. Then go into "Background" and make it blank. The start adding gear, colors, hair, eyes, and everything, from the options. Make sure you're seeing all the options for each category. There are several pages of Eyes for example.
http://www.reddit.com/r/characterdrawing "for fans of role playing games who would like their characters drawn or for artists who want to draw characters from popular role playing games such as DnD. This is purely pro bono work please do not solicit work."
ProBono does a lot of awesome things on Dundjinni, i've asked him for a few maps and portraits and after a few weeks i found some real nice stuff on his posts open to everyone. Yep, he's stuffed of work that ppl solicit from him. Just be patient and creative on the request and he will answer. Sometimes i don't understand why pp look exactly for round tokens. In my games i tell ppl to look on the web for tokens that will aply for their characters and out there it will always be a picture that can apply for the PC/NPC if not... just describe it.
I was an artist and used to do a fair amount of portrait work (realism) ... never character portraits for games (fantasy/sci-fi). I did more anniversary, graduation, memorial type stuff. I did black and grey (pen and ink), a few with minor color highlights and backgrounds. I never knew there was a demand for character art. Are we talking about full body, waist-up, busts, or just facial/head shots ... full fantasy regalia, simple clothing, etc.? The possibilities are endless, really. Anyone have any input regarding more specifics? I'm looking for a general overview ... I have no idea.

I changed my profile pic to a piece from my sketchbook of a celebrity as an example (not great clarity or resolution on my cell camera) ... I don't if this is the sort/style of what people are looking for but for the sake of conversation it's a start. As an artist, I would think any artist would need more specific information regarding style, color/b&w, size, etc. to begin any serious work. Just a thought anyways ....
