Following the team’s release from the location(warehouse),
we find ourselves alone and pursue the first lead provided by
unit(Saedan_Boramar). Unit(Dembe) sets off to try and locate some other lead he
believes might prove useful and promises to locate us later. In
district(Kyber’s Gate), unit(Garrick) asks directions and soon discerns the
location of the establishment(Wounded Dragon). We proceed to the
establishment(Wounded Dragon) that is owned by the target(Kask). As we
approach, we notice the same coach with the sigil(Esoteric Order of Aureon)
that we saw at the residence of unit(Alain_Gourthan) the day before. The same
race(human) gender(male) with a goatee and fine purple clothing exits the
establishment(Wounded Dragon), enters his sky coach, and is off.
The present team—units(Garrick), (Kaine), and this
unit—enter the establishment and find a unit(race_designate@changeling) present
as expected. This unit takes the opportunity to conduct business, first seeking
to replace the oil(Repair Light Damage) that was utilized the previous day, but
unit(Kask) has no such oils. Then this unit seeks to purchase infusion
component oils in order to begin adding infusions to weapons of allies.
Unit(Kask) does have a few such alchemical ingredients and sells this unit two
such packets. At 20gp per unit(component), this unit reaches deep into its
Haversack and pulls out enough gold to exchange 40gp for the two packets.

Unit(Garrick) has wandered deeper into the display area and
target(Kask) moves to engage with him, discussing his interests in potential
alchemical items. Unit(Garrick) whips his mace around and strikes target(Kask).

Unit(Kaine) manifests(psionic_power@energy arc:
electricity), striking target(Kask). Target(Kask) steps back and pulls out a
scroll, reading and casting (arcane_spell@obscuring mist), filling the area
with fog and covering units(Garrick) and (Kaine). Unit(Garrick) and this unit
pursue the target(Kask) into the mist, swinging as we draw close, but missing.
Unit(Kaine) backs up and moves outside, anticipating the
target’s actions. Target(Kask) jumps out the window in an attempt to flee.
Unit(Garrick) strikes him again as he leaps out the window, dealing him a
serious blow as he scurries to flee. Unit(Garrick) then leaps out the window
after him, attempting to blast target(Kask) with a casting (divine_spell@Will
of the Grave?), but missing the target. This unit exits the building through
the door. Unit(Kaine) blasts the target with a spell(arcane_spell@Ray of Flame)
striking him and igniting him, the target falling after a few more steps. This
unit rushes forward, clearly indicating its intentions, “This unit is on fire!
This unit will assist in extinguishing flames!” This unit repeats this while
making multiple slam attacks to assure the target has been dispatched. Once
this is confirmed, this unit moves back towards the establishment(Wounded
Dragon). Unit(Garrick) takes a moment to sweep a shelf clear of its alchemical
substances and nets the team the following before we exit the establishment: 2
alchemist’s frosts, 3 alchemist’s fires.

In a busy district where a (race_designate@gnome) hands out fliers
for establishment(Lucky 9’s) and dozens of sentient species dressed in scores
of fashions pass on the streets, it takes some time for unit(Garrick) to
discern the location of local (race_designate@gnolls). After a while, he learns
of an establishment(brothel: Frisky Rabbit) that target(Kosht) is known to
frequent with other race(gnolls).
Heading the identified establishment, we follow a half-orc
and a hobgoblin we had noticed on the street into a doorway between two
buildings that seems to open into nothing but an alley. While the half-orc and
hobgoblin nod and walk past the 7-ft tall (race_designate@shifter), the
apparent (position_designate@bouncer) stops us as we try to enter.
Unit(Garrick) explains that we are there to meet someone and bribes the
race(shifter) to let us enter.
Within, we follow the alley towards a red light at the back
where the establishment opens up into a building. There, we identify a (race_designate@gnoll)
in the corner with a (race_designate@bugbear) (position_designate@bodyguard).
Unit(Garrick) initiates a discussion with the race(gnoll). Unit(Garrick)
indicates that we seek unit(Kosht). The race(gnoll) indicates that unit(Kosht)
does not like being bothered and that he will decide whether what we need is
worthy of unit(Kosht)’s attention. Unit(Garrick) intimidates the race(gnoll)
into leading us to unit(Kosht).
We leave the brothel(Frisky Rabbit) with the race(gnoll),
who leads us to an establishment(apartment complex) in (ward_designate@Durra)
(District_designate@Tumbledown). Again, the race(gnoll) attempts to act as an
intermediary and again, unit(Garrick) uses threats to make clear how little
patience he has for those who will not either assist him or get out of the way.
The race(gnoll) indicates that unit(Kosht) is within and leads us in.
Within, in a dining area, we encounter an armed
(race_designate@gnoll) who speaks with our race(gnoll) guide in (language_designate@unknown:
assumed gnollish). After a moment, this race(gnoll) questions us. This unit
informs it that we are concerned with “large amounts of dragon’s blood,” and
successfully bluffs him into leading us further in.
The race(gnoll) guard leads our race(gnoll) guide and us to
a stairway up, where we proceed to the second floor. As we proceed down a
hallway, the race(gnoll) guard explains we must surrender our weapons. The team
agrees and we proceed after doing so.
Entering another large room, the team is confronted by a
pack of race(gnolls): three more that seem similar to the guard already at our
back, two that seem to be position(bodyguard)s or position(lieutenant)s, and
one large race(gnoll), almost 7-ft tall, who is dressed in fine clothes and
smokes a cigar. “Well, well, what do you all want with me?” the race(gnoll) in
fine clothes asks.
In reply, all three present team members exchange a quick
glance before we begin casting. Unit(Garrick) casts
(divine_spell@shield_of_faith); unit(Kaine) casts (arcane_spell@shield); this
unit activates RAPID INFUSION (infusion_designate@lesser natural weapon enhancement:
gnollbane).
The gnolls respond to our castings and infusion, moving to
engage. The guide who lead us up from the lower floor strikes at this unit.
