[LFP] Star Wars Edge of the Empire

The Empire isn't invincible, all knowing, or all seeing. You and your "friends" have always known that of course, you've evaded, outwitted, and on a rare occasion maybe even outgunned them. You've always known this, but now you finally feel it. You finally believe it. After all the Empire's invincible superweapon, the Death Star, was just destroyed two months ago...almost as soon as it was existence was announced. The Galaxy is changing, and it's a good time to be in your line of work. Once you get off this rock that is. One week ago, three Rebellion agents or terrorists depending on where you politics lay, were apprehended near the Outer Rim world of Eber Roan, apparently in an attempt to bomb and destroy the planet's shipyards. Having four habitable, mineral rich moons and a planet periodically emitting gases important to space travel, the world proved to be a both remote and valuable target for the Rebellion. Since then, the planets governor Raul Tira and the sector's Moff Danal Cesar have ordered a temporary no flight zone of the planet and it's four habitable moons outside of directly affiliated Imperial vessels. While this poses little problem for now for the civilian population, given most official trade is directly from the Empire and high clearance affiliated contractors given it's isolation and distance from major Hyperspace Lanes despite how infrequent those visits usually are, it is a major problem for the extremely large criminal community that was attracted to the planet for the very similar reasons, with the aided benefit of a previously highly unregulated shipyard and close proximity to Hutt Space. You, are one of many, people stuck on Eber Roan because you don't have a high security clearance or the means to get ticket on a official Imperial ride out of dodge for one reason or another. Worse, now Moff Ceasar has began ordering arrests of all known criminals or dissidents and undesirables. Maybe you're a criminal. Maybe your a Rebel or Rebel apologist. Heck maybe you just looked at the wrong person the wrong way. It doesn't really matter. Soon you might be spending the rest of your life in Imperial dentition center if you don't find a way off this world soon. Luckily you have a contact (or two/three/whatever) who knows a guy who says he can get you and a couple other people off Eber Roan if you do a little job for him. Nothing to dangerous he says, but then again does that really matter? Mass arrests are occurring and tomorrow it might be you who gets free ride on an Imperial Prison ship. Character Creation and Playtimes I don't have a time yet, I'm hoping we can all come to accord and find something that suits everyone. I am looking for people who want to play twice a month/or maybe even once a week if by some miracle we can achieve that for 3-4 hours sessions. First off I'm CST. That isn't necessarily bad if you a Euro dude or something. I work nights during the week so I'm usually around on weird times if you want to play during weekdays. Still I playing prefer weekends and weekend nights. As for character creation. Standard MO, you start with ten obligation and can raise it to fifteen for extra cash/junk/whatever. Just make sure to chose an obligation that gives a reason why your dealing with the underworld whether it is because of a bounty on your head because your a smuggler or an escaped Wookie slave or protested the Empire when you where 16 or something. You can use the Unofficial Species Menagerie for races not in the Core if you don't want to be stuck with just dumb Bothans or even lamer fictional races like "humans". No starting ship, because you're all grounded
Hey Lulz! That sounds pretty cool and IMO the major appeal of EotE: Operating under the noses of the Empire and powerful criminals. The lack of Jedi gives it a lot of shine too, everyday is a mission to make some creds and avoid unwanted attention. Very gritty, questionable morals and dodgy deals I love this system! I'm currently playing in 2 EotE games: The first as a quirky Twi'lek Outlaw Tech who has been a lot of fun. He couldn't hit a rancor if it was staring him in the face but he is great with tech, computers and mechanics! The second is just starting and i'm playing a Human Survivalist who is basically a scout for higher who is on the lookout for his former mentor who has gone without warning. I have a decent grasp of the rules and own the core book. My personal preferences for a game contains a strong story that is driven by players and the GM with some memorable RP. I think this is a strong point of the system. Who knows what the crazy dice rolls will produce. I prefer to play support characters and let others do the heavy lifting in combat situations. I have mainly played 3.5/4th ed dnd but this system has been more enjoyable. Unfortunately I live in Australia (+9.5) which means I could only make a Friday/Saturday evening unless you play at a strange time. 4PM CDT is the ealiest I could make it which is 6:30am my time but could start between that time and 12 hours later. Any more info just pm me and I will reply
I can play at strange times during SOME weekdays as I said before. Saturday does work well though.
Hello Lulz! I'll make the post short but I'm interested in playing. Currently I GM an EotE (Age of Rebellion Beta) game every sunday evening (PST, Western Canada) but am free any other night (PST) of the week. I'm familiar with 97% of the rules and would love to be part of a game.
Don't plan around me but if the planets align I would love to join
hi all, i am always interested in star wars games however i dont own any of the books :( and im GMT
Angelous, this isn't a very obtuse system but it's still something that can't be winged or explained unless you have a book in front of you.
Lulz I just saw your lfg listing and the current set play time works for me. Should I post in there as well?
Sure, that would be great!
