Date: 9-10 Sunsebb, 610 CY Attendance: Jareth (61), Wulrakas, Cat, Karil (62) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Recap: With Rexi still nowhere in sight, the party decides to stay the night at Rostanna's. The following morning they eat breakfast, and a very drunk man drops his coin pouch near Wulrakas. The Dragonborn rifles through its contents and finds a note detailing some sort of ritual. After giving the pouch back to the man and quelling his suspicions with charisma, Wulrakas and the others decide to follow him. Outside the man meets with a black-clad, suspicious looking individual. They trade words for a while and the note is handed off. As the man in black proceeds to ride off, Cat uses magic and the man is thrown from his mount by an invisible force. Angry, he begins to pummel his horse, then proceeds to beat on the drunk for talking back. Wulrakas confronts the man and is roughly shoved, but eventually he rides off on his dazed horse. In the process his horse tramples the drunk's legs, breaking them both. Jareth takes the injured drunk to a local doctor while the others follow the man in black. Following the man in black to a camp in the wilderness (Cat, invisible on the man's mount, Wulrakas - flying low and keeping his distance, Jareth - using his silver dragon artifact to fly after them later), the party is eventually thrown into combat. As the fight begins, however, a loud explosion rocks the area. Turning towards Edgefield, the party sees that the town is in flames. Resounding, demonic laughter can be heard... even from this distance. Jareth implores them to make haste to the city while he deals with the two men. They oblige him, and Wulrakas flies towards Edgefield with Cat on his shoulder. Meanwhile, a young Tiefling from the Yothagos' realm hears a voice calling to him. A voice in his native tongue. He's drawn to the burning city by this voice. The three soon realize that the city is overrun by fiends. The Tiefling -- Karil --disguises himself as a deviling to blend in. The other two head to Rostanna's, and reunite with Thruskk. Agreeing to gather as many able-bodied warriors as they can, for one desperate push towards the fiend's leader, Wulrakas and Cat begin to fly towards each individual skirmish. Karil notices them and joins up, and together they're able to save a handful of soldiers from the western side of the city., while defeating scores of fiends in the process. Regrouping at Rostanna's once more, Thruskk tells them that he'll take the men to recapture the eastern side of the city. In the meantime, they're to assault the fiend leader -- a Pit Lord -- found in the center of town. A battle proceeds as the town around them continues to burn.
