[LFP] D&D 5th Edition - DM Looking for new group of players!

Dungeon Master here looking to form a group! When: Looking to meet weekly or biweekly. Either weekdays after 5:30pm (Central Time) or weekends at any time (probably ending no later than 10:30pm on Sun-Thurs, but no real time limit on Friday or Saturday) I’d ideally like to get started in the next few weeks with the very latest being the week after New Years. What: A 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons ongoing campaign. I DM on the heavier roleplaying side with lots of NPCs and interaction with a moderate amount of battle. I'd love to create a campaign that actually works with my players' backstories, so those of you that love writing your characters and carrying out their personal goals this might be the campaign for you. I'm not overly serious, silliness is welcome, the whole point of a game is to have fun. This would be a mostly homebrew style game, not an official published adventure. In case I get any questions about races/classes/backgrounds, I’m open to homebrew but only if you are unreasonably passionate about the race/class/background you’d like and can give me a good backstory reason as to why you are choosing said race/class/background. I am also open to races, classes, and backgrounds in the 5e books such as Volo’s Guide, Curse of Strahd, etc. How: Please only apply if you have access to a mic. As this is a heavy roleplaying adventure I'd like for everyone to be able to speak with each other. Video chat is optional depending on how the group feels about it. I would love to have a group that feels trusting of each other enough to use real dice on the honor system rather than use the roll20 online dice system. You: Newer players welcome. Seasoned players welcome as well! Looking for about 4-5 players total (if you have a group of 3-5 people and want to all play together please feel free to message me about that!). I would like all of my players to have open minds and hearts, no discrimination against anyone of any age, gender, sexuality, religion, etc. In either a PM or in response to this post please tell me about yourself and respond to the following questions: I will likely want to do a skype interview with anyone I am really interested in playing with. What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. What interested you in joining my group? Do you have any questions for me? I will likely want to do a Skype interview with anyone I am really interested in playing with. This is just kind of some starter questions, anyone that I’m considering welcoming to the group, be warned I will have more questions for you that I will most likely either PM you or ask in the skype interview. About me: My name is Zee I am a 22 year old gal living in the midwest. I went to school for illustration and my list of hobbies could go on for miles. I am a relatively newer DM, I have run campaigns for my family but I'm really excited to meet some new people that share my love for the game! I am very dedicated and super friendly, you can always count on me to be prepared and you can always come to me with questions or concerns. P.S. Wow this post ended up being so dang long.

hi, i go by the names arcas corricol, grimBleeper, and eric if you want to start at 5:30 pm central time, that's 10:30 am for me since i'm australian, i just finished high school so i should be available for those sessions, i don't mind the amount of hours that are played i'm fine with all types of d&d but i'm use to combat heavy quests that span multiple sessions i've played 4e for a few years and 5e for a few weeks i like playing healers and right now, i want to play a bard just so i can make puns and music references i can play any role, having experience as tank (fighter), medic (artificer/cleric/warlord), and dps (ranger) i want to join because i miss playing d&d and my usual dm is overseas at the moment i don't have any questions for you i don't have skype and i can't register for it because of some error with unrecognised characters, is it fine if we use discord instead? otherwise i can try any other communication program. i have a webcam and a microphone but since i still live with family, there may be background noise edit: i've got skype working and can do the skype interview, Eric Mui, same picture as roll20
Zee, follow this link (Games &gt; Start New Game): <a href="https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/new/" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/new/</a> Once you've done that make sure to enable the Looking for Players option and your game will be listed in the lfg listing (Games &gt; Find a Group): <a href="https://app.roll20.net/lfg/search/" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/lfg/search/</a> It may take a while to be active, but that's the best way to find players, or other campaigns you might want to join.
What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? I'm available saturdays starting from around 13:00 BRT(GMT -3) every week, if I'm unavailable that day for any reason I will warn the group. As to session time on saturdays I can do anything from 3 to 6 or 8 hours. What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) As long as me and the people palying are enjoying the game I'm fine with whatever How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) 23 hours, around 5 sessions of 5e. Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign. I don't know anyone who doesn't already have a session on saturday At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I want to play a bard, so high charisma is a given What interested you in joining my group? I've been looking for a saturday group to play with that has no problems with newbies and this fits the bill Do you have any questions for me? Not really no
What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? I'm available Sunday - Wednesday, Friday, Saturday anytime after 5:30 pm CST, and probably no later than 2:00 am. The maximum playtime per session would probably be roughly 4 - 4.5 hours.&nbsp; What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) I'm open to whatever. I've only been apart of one campaign before, and it ended very abruptly. How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) I haven't played much as mentioned above. I've been watching streams/videos for around two years now though. I've also done quite a bit of reading; I own a decent amount of the printed material (PHB, DMG, etc... ) Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign. The only character I've played has been a Fighter, the campaign didn't last long enough to reach any true character development. I have a couple ideas for characters, but nothing fleshed out completely. At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I'm open to playing anything.&nbsp; What interested you in joining my group? You're open to newer players, and your intended starting/ending times works with my schedule. Also that you mentioned having an open mind and having trust in one another.&nbsp; Do you have any questions for me? None at this time.&nbsp;
Hello! Name: Darren Location: Seattle, Wa (PST) Availability: I am free most days except for Friday and Sunday Play Style: I like an even mix of reoleplaying, combat, and exploration. I enjoy character driven plots and interactions with npcs. But I also like to roll some dice. Experience: I've been gaming for about 18 years or so now. I began with D&D 2e, and progressed from there, playing D&D, Pathfinder, White Wolf game, etc.&nbsp; Favorite Characters: I think my favorite is an Artificer from the Eberron setting named Jensen. Sweet, kindhearted, and not a little greedy, she was a mix between Kaylee Fry from Firefly and a ferengi from Star Trek.&nbsp; Interests: I'd like to play in a game where pc's can work on their personal goals along side the overall story goals.

Some Personal info: My name is Seth. I am 31, recently married. and work from home in Pennsylvania. What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? Sunday, all day. Mon, Tues, Thurs after 5 PM. What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) I like a mix of all elements. Maybe not the exploring so much and leaning toward a large quest/mystery. How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) I have played a little bit of 5E on Roll20, but not very much . Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign In my previous game I have played a halfling ranger. This time around I think I would be more keen on a druid or paladin. Possibly a Firbolg Druid as they seem like an interesting race - maybe one that is self-conscious about his height. At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. Could definitely heal on the druid if needed, or focus more on wild shape if we've got that covered. Druid seems very flexible! What interested you in joining my group? I like the detailed post and the possibility of playing on Sundays is always nice! Do you have any questions for me? Not a question but a note: I have a friend that should be applying - Dave R. If possible I'd like to play along with him. Thank you for the consideration!
Name: Dave Times Available: No Wednesdays or Saturday Afternoons, else all weekday evenings or any time Sunday. Can't usually play past midnight unless it's summer. Would prefer Sundays but weekdays are doable. Preferred Playstyle: I'm a roleplayer and problem-solver. Attempting to tackle all issues and problems from my character's point of view, whether that be a no-nonsense wizard, or a gunshy fighter, etc.. That said, when combat comes around, the higher stakes the better. As a player, I want my character choices to have consequences, for good or ill. Experience: Been in a number of D&D or Pathfinder games, though I've DMed more than I've played. Most of my DM experience is from 4th and 5th edition, though I've been interested in rpgs since 2nd edition. Favorite Character: Had a wizard named Lydia (I usually play female characters) in an Eberron campaign who was the daughter of a large banking interest. She lived in her own head most of the time, occupied with research or magic, but her upbringing gave her very acute, direct, and manipulative diplomatic skills which she brought out when perturbed.&nbsp; Roles: I can happily find an interesting character within ANY class or race. I'm least interested in Rangers, but I can find fun things in all the classes. I tend to avoid halflings and gnomes as I get enough of being small in real life. Why your group: I like your emphasis on role-playing, and when I DMed I was always thinking of ways to get my players to explore their characters and inhabit their headspaces, which in turn made them more invested in combat and their fellow players. Note: A longtime friend also applied (Seth), and if possible I'd like to play with him. Thanks, and good luck with your campaign regardless.
Yay! Lots of interest so far! After I get a few more messages and replies I will start messaging people to let you know if I want to talk more with you about possibly joining my group!
Also thanks to those of you that&nbsp;shared the helpful links!
Well Met Zee! Name: &nbsp;Dan R. I am 19, and I am eager to start going back to school.(That is totally unrelated.) Availability: &nbsp;I work part-time, and my schedule is not fixed. If I were to join you folks though, if we established a day, I could permanently request that time off. Experience: &nbsp;I just started playing. I have played 5e maybe 10 sessions, and DMd maybe 5 sessions. All within the last month. Playstyle: &nbsp;I like it all. I really REALLY love to play. I have DMd, but I think my heart lies with playing. I like dungeon delving with an aspect of role play. I like to be able to jump off the ledge, land on the bugbears' back hold a knife to his throat and force him to release the prisoners. If he refuses once, I will have a nice new bugbear head to sconce. I also really enjoy being in a tavern, saying the wrong thing to the right person and losing all good relations with them and kindle a tavern brawl! - I like smaller quests, sorta like we enter the dungeon, we find the sword, we leave, we have a new sword. I don't want to find out why the sword was there or the spirit of its' previous owner. Unless... IDK, you're the DM. -I also like lengthy quests. We must escort the elderly man across the desert, but he is secretly evil and now we must find his evil lair and destroy his evil evilness for all mortal kind!!! Favorite Character: &nbsp;So out of the characters I have played, I enjoyed my High Elf Wizard the most. I have never played above level 5, and he was killed by a chasme at level 5...:'( Roles: &nbsp;I want to tank. I know it directly contradicts my wiz fascination, but I like hitting! (Please, I am not a mean person.) I don't know what class quite yet. I am thinking a Half-Orc Totem Warrior Barbarian. I would tell you his name and story, but it is so great, I don't want to melt the minds of people who might read my post and not be able to handle its fury. Why my interest: &nbsp;Sooooooooooooooooooo, I like your hair..... It reminds me of a friend I don't get to see anymore... I like the idea of an established party who continuously goes on quests together, and I know that is what most D&D is, but I have not gotten that experience yet. Mostly I have played Roll20 Open campaign. So I want some good friends to stick around. OH OH, and your dice policy is way sweet. I don't know how you would work it, but I am all 100% for the honorable real dice system. (Fist Pump) Quandaries: &nbsp; Do you have a campaign backbone? Would you allow me to start at level 1? Do you know how to set up a game as a DM on Roll20? Are you excited? I am. I WAY am!

What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? I am available on Monday, Thursday and Sunday easily. Wednesday and Saturday are possible, but a bit trickier. Friday is a definite no-go, but other than that the after 5:30 timeslot works well for me on most weekdays. I don't mind long sessions as long as they remain interesting, but sessions that are too long tend to have really dull lulls in the action that are hard to play through. Game fatigue is a factor, so if more game is the intention having two sessions a week is probably a better option. What is your preferred play style? I like a mix of elements. My main desire is always for a game with a real plot. I cannot even begin to count the number of times "sandbox" was just an excuse for no GM preparation... How much experience do you have? Around 15 years of gaming, starting with D&D way back when. Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign. So, so many that I cannot even begin to count. I've played almost every type of character, broadly, but my preferences tend toward primary spellcasters, stealthy types and the dearly beloved gish. At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I'm a flexible player willing to play a character to round out a party as needed. What interested you in joining my group? It's hard to pin down a specific reason. Something about the impression of this forum post makes it seem like the game will actually happen and continue past one or two sessions. Also, no really drastic rule alterations have been mentioned--there's a really unfortunate trend of rookie GMs altering rules without fully understanding them, creating crazy over- or underpowered options. Do you have any questions for me? What is your opinion on the Dungeon Master's Guide firearm rules? I'm just curious.
What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? I'm free Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all day, and after 6:30 EST on the other days What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) I like role playing, and I am partial to big quests with multiple components, but I'm open on this as well. How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) around 15 hours in 5e, and a good couple of years in 3e (Though it has been some time, and I'm rusty on 3e) Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign I have generally played as characters who don't take themselves too seriously, but have a troubled past (the joker who uses humor to hide his pain archetype). I'm looking to play either as that, or a one dimensional character, like someone who is a religious zealot, or who only cares about knowledge. At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I have on multiple occasions gone for sneak mage, which is basically a wizard or sorcerer, or even a healer, who loots the gear from a rogue who died. In all seriousness though, I'll do fine on any backliner, so healer, rogue, etc. What interested you in joining my group? To be honest, I just found roll20, and you're like the 2nd campaign that I've ever applied to. I also like it when the game isn't taken too seriously, which was a plus in this case.
Hi, Zee! Just a bit about me: I also live in the midwest. I'm from Michigan originally, I now live in Indiana. I'm 28 and I'm super in love with DnD. I've got a little boston terrier named Lady...who is HILARIOUS. Anyway, to your questions: What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? Available Monday or Wednesday evenings (Eastern time for me) every week. I'd like ~3-4 hour sessions What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) I've only been playing for a year, so I'm open to experimentation on style. Really I just want to play as much as I can because I've fallen so in love with this game lol. How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) I've been playing once a week for about a year. Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign The only One I've played so far is named Kol. He's a half-elf Ranger who is still trying to reintegrate into human society after living in the wilderness with a wolf pack since he was an infant. He can come off as brutish (or frequently: awkard) since he doesn't fully understand social niceties, but he's fiercely loyal to his friends and enjoys helping others. I've created at least one character in every class so far just for fun though lol (seriously). I LOVE LOVE LOVE thinking of new characters and their backstories :) At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I can fill any one of those roles. See my previous answer lol. What interested you in joining my group? There aren't a lot of people out there who are interested in tying the adventure into the character's backstories. I like the prepackaged adventures, but I'd really like to be able to do something that feels relevant to my character (or at least to one of the other characters in the party) Do you have any questions for me? Not at this time. If you're planning on doing some sort of skype interview I could ask questions then.
Hi Zee! Wow looks like tons of interest here since I saw this post as I was passing out last night. That's amazing! Anyways here's my app too :) What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? Sundays, mondays I'm free all day (assuming work &nbsp;doesn't mess me up and overschedule me) Tuesdays- Saturdays I'm only free after around 8pm EST. I personally like to play a min of 4 hours at a time. It allows for great story sessions and also has some room in there for the occasional off topic that happens in most good groups lol. What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) I'm open as far as play style. I love lots of roleplay and building up a character. I also have a love for world building too. Whether I DM and make a world or I'm a player and work towards building my own castle/keep/guild/house/ect. If you are doing a custom world and need some pointers let me know I'll help you out whether I get in the game or not :) How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) TBH with 5ed this would be my first game. However, I've played 3.5/Pthfinder for almost 15 yrs now. Also I've only played a handful of times on Roll20 so this is a fairly new thing for me too, but I'm a quick study and I've read through all the books so figuring out the mechanics shouldnt be too hard for me. Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign Characters.... Sooooo many. I'm in love with casters and rogues. One rogue was a C/N money hoarding psycho. (it was a solo campaign) who traveled to an island and found a monarchy. The king ruled by vote (so like a democracy except they called him king) the only way for him to be stricken of his power was by assassination or by vote. Well Tara (rogue) poisoned him one day while he was holding a feast and while the dining hall was on lock down she snuck into the royal treasury and stole every valuable item in there with her Portable hole and left before anyone was the wiser. I also played two mages. One was C/G and hated by the kingdom he lived in because he had built a magic school using his own funds and taught magic where it was otherwise band. However, the towns idea of him changed when a volcano near the capitol was about to errupt and the mage and everyone else at the school gathered and cast a teleportation circle around the town and actually had enough power to teleport the entire town away from volcano. The other was on a ship traveling south while being followed by a war band of barbarians and she cast grease into the water about 3 times to make a larger area, then when the barbarian ship sailed into the area her elven companion shot a flaming arrow into the grease and set the ship on fire killing the whole crew.&nbsp; Ilove playing this game lol. At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. Like I mentioned, I prefer to play casters, preferably arcane. I can do a sorcerer if need be. I'm not a huge fan of high charisma characters mostly because when it comes to speaking roles, I myself get very shy so it never turns out the way I intend. I can also do a skill monkey or stealth scout if you'd prefer. I'm comfortable either way. What interested you in joining my group? My interest in this group started when I read how detailed you were in your post. It's hard to find a DM that is that dedicated before even having a game set. Not to mention how organized it all is, very impressive. I also love the chance of being able to develop my character in an open-world sandbox setting. They are my favorite.&nbsp; Do you have any questions for me? Questions. Not at the moment. Only good luck in the game and with all this interest finding a group won't be hard at all. Remember if you ever need some help or co-gm to help with a homebrew style world. I have your back either as a player or not.
Thanks for all of the replies so far! I'm going to start reaching out to all of you today and this weekend. If anyone else is interested in applying feel free! I haven't invited anyone officially, I'm just going to be reaching out and seeing if people that fit what I'm looking for are interested in setting up a skype interview so there is definitely still time to let me know you are interested!
Hi Zee! I hope I'm not too late. I'm Bobby, and I'm brand new to this whole thing. I literally just sat down and filled out my first character sheet. I'm really interested in finding a group to really learn the ropes and figure out how to become a good storyteller. I'll get right to your questions. What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? Most days after 7pm Central time, and every day is free for something to be scheduled right now. I don't really know how long I'd want to play one session for yet. What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) I really haven't figured it out yet, but I'm thinking small quests in tangent with one large one or something like that. Mostly I think I'd really like to have an overarching story to develop a character in. How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) Absolutely none besides watching HarmonQuest, which is what got me interested in the first place! Though I have played MMOs and RPGs before video-game wise. Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign The first character I created is a pretty basic pirate-y rogue, high stealth and charisma, with a relatively tame backstory. I'd like to try him first but I have no problems running a necessary role. What interested you in joining my group? Honestly, it was just the first thing I clicked on that seemed to be starting soon. Additionally your post was long and well worded, which indicates to me that you seem to be interested in a somewhat stable and long term group. You mentioned in your post that you don't mind a bit of silliness, which is good because I really want to be able to explore and learn how to accomplish challenges set out by the DM in creative and sometimes silly ways. Thanks for reading and I hope to hear from you!

Greetings Zee, I am interested in playing if my availability meets your needs. About me: Name: Steve Age: 39 (for a few more weeks!) Location: Michigan What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? I have kids, so I would prefer to play while they are in bed (that is usually about 10pm EST, 9CST). &nbsp;If playing on friday nights, I can usually go to 3am EST/2amCST. &nbsp;Saturday nights are date nights, so it wouldn't work quite so well. &nbsp;Weeknights I wouldn't be willing to go much past 1230amEST/1130pmCST due to working full time. &nbsp; The kids get up around 830am on the weekends, so I could go early mornings saturdays and sundays roughly 6am -830am (5-730CST). &nbsp;I also DM a game that runs about once per month, on Friday evenings, so wouldn't wan't to do more than every other week. &nbsp;Once every 3 weeks or so would probably be best for me, but could make more often work depending on how everyone wanted to do it. What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) I'm pretty noobish, so don't have much of a defined playstyle yet. &nbsp;However, if you listen to the Adventure Zone podcast, I go for that sort of atmosphere, though without the talent of the McElroys. &nbsp;You might say " I'm not overly serious, silliness is welcome, the whole point of a game is to have fun." &nbsp;Hey - you did &nbsp;say that. How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) I am currently DMing a game about once per month, for about 5 months now. &nbsp;I think also I did a one shot when I was about 9 years old, but don't remember much from it. &nbsp;Other than that, I dont hame much experience. &nbsp;I also play MMORPGs, but there is not much RP occurring in World Of Warcraft - on my end anyway. Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign. My characters have primarily been in video games but I modify them for the various games I have been in. &nbsp;none really have a strong backstory, though I am willing to write something up as needed. &nbsp;I have a couple of ideas, but nothing set in stone.&nbsp; At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I am thinking about a Chaotic Good Ranger, raised by gypsies who has some slight of hand/thieving abilities. Or perhaps a Rogue/Fighter Multiclass archer (same character background) That said, I am willing to play what ever the group really needed. What interested you in joining my group? Mostly the fact that the times might work. &nbsp;I enjoy DMing, but I honestly only started my game so that I could play, I think I'd rather be a player than the DM. &nbsp;But I'd rather be a DM than not play at all. &nbsp;Though since I am also a DM, I might be willing to put some work in to help out (I write up summaries of the play sessions for my players since we only play about once a month, and could do something similar. &nbsp;I also do some minor retconning in the summaries, providing a bit more detail that I should have given during the session) Do you have any questions for me? I know you said that info from Volo's and DMG and the like would be allowed, but what about Unearthed Arcana? &nbsp;I do like the updated Ranger build from there. Thanks for listening - good luck with the game either way! edits: time clarifications, other minor clarifications

Age: 21 Gender: Male From: United Kingdom What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? I'm usually available all week, but would prefer weekend sessions due to our time differences (I'm British). I could play for 3-8 hours no problem. As long as it doesn't start too late, I don't mind staying awake into the morning to finish the session. :P What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) I'm a roleplayer, but I really enjoy character development and an interest storyarch with lots of things to do How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) - &nbsp;I've played D&D for a handful of years and I've also been DMing recently myself. Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign- My favourite character has to be my Gnome Bard, Raslin Turen. He's an eccentric, animal loving forest gnome bard. I went with a feat to tame animals, and I ended up with a pretty heft Ram who was my guardian but also my noble steed. But honestly I was interested in either playing a Human Ranger or Wizard. I could go something else, but I've played many of the melee classes so mixing things up may be fun. I had a pretty interesting idea to be an&nbsp;Animagus, which is a magical being who can turn into a specific animal that reflects its personality. Obviously not for combat use, but more for RP flare. That animal for the character I've been working on would most likely be a cat. At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I'd be going with high Charisma to reflect on my skills as a Guild Trader (Background). What interested you in joining my group? I've been sticking to a select group of friends, but unfortunately I've been forced to DM, seeing your post made me think maybe I could try being a player again! Do you have any questions for me? Not as I know of currently, I may ask some later if it becomes relevant.
Hello Zee, throwing my hat into the ring: What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? Monday thru Thursday after 7 PM (CST) is the most convenient at the moment, I could do Sunday's in the morning/evening on a bi-weekly basis (would prefer bi-weekly overall).&nbsp; What is your preferred play style?&nbsp;(Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) Well being a DM has allowed me to grow to love a balance of everything - but I'm quite partial to RP situations. How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) I've been playing for a few years now - the number escapes me - and started with Pathfinder. Then began my venture as a DM with 5E (I tried running a few Pathfinder games as well.) Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign. I've played a LOT of characters that I grew to love. First one is Thodahr, a Skald in Pathfinder, a human who was raised by dwarves (thinks he's a dwarf), and has a very fragile psyche - he always carried a head/skull with him which "spoke" to him, this also lead to hoarding soaps and perfumes. He came to be very popular with my group. The other two would be Sylvana (half-elf warlock) and Galliard (human bard), Sylvana was a fun character to play with a very natural progression from lawful to evil alignment, the DM did a fantastic job of facilitating that progression; and Galliard, he was a useful skill monkey, had some great laughs, and I would still like to chance to flush him out further. And finally, Yorik, a Paladin with a head full of rocks; he also has a compulsion to hide in boxes, examine every box he finds, and so on. At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I'm definitely fine with filling roles as needed - I mainly focus on making a character's personality, so filling combat roles is easy as pie. I'd love to try a Barbarian or Cleric if the tank and healing roles need to be addressed.&nbsp; What interested you in joining my group? Well I was browsing the LFG forum this morning, since I DM two games (one with two different stories) I'm just looking to take a passenger seat every once in a while, it's nice to relax ^_^ Do you have any questions for me? Not at the moment!
Hello, I am Wade and I am 30 years old. My skype name is Aegeta if you would like to contact me. What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? I'm free most times after 6:00 pm EST on weekdays and fully free on Weekends. I GM a 4E day Fridays and may be joining a hero game on Mondays. What is your preferred play style? I love story driven campaigns with a lot of RP and combat when needed (or when the party starts a fight). As for the type of characters I play. I usually end being the de facto "leader" or the guy that does most of the negotiations and have had to build my character have some diplomatic ability or intimidation ability. I normally play dex based swordsman, but I would like to play a strength based swordsman now (maybe a fighter). How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) I've been playing for 15 years via 3.5 and 4E as long as many other systems. I have GMed for the last two years and I want to start playing as a player again. Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign. Arcturus was my favorite character of all time (I'll likely re-imagine him for your game). He was a dual wielding Ranger that took EVERYTHING way to seriously and he had a hard time getting used to working with his party members, but ended up considering his party family. On the last session of that campaign he died staying behind holding the main bad guy down while the rest of the party escaped. I also played a Drow Rouge that just wanted to have fun. I wouldn't say she was a troll character, but she was very easily distracted and she would end up getting things done that needed stealth or pick-pocketing. There was one instance where the party needed to get a key off a guard Captain and my character walked up to him, while the party was planning on how to get the key. She flirted with him and nat 20ed the pick-pocket roll and went back to the party (it was her most useful thing of the campaign.) At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I would play a tank but would prefer to be a damage based fighter. I normally train myself in diplomacy or something like that rather than having high charisma. What interested you in joining my group? I really want to play as a player again. I enjoy seeing how other people DM/GM as well. Do you have any questions for me? None right now, but if you choose me to be in your game I would like to ask you about the world to craft my backstory and the the current make up of the party so I can adjust my character accordingly.
&nbsp; Hi a little about myself. I am a 26 year old male that is looking to play in a group with my 22 year old girlfriend. We have played in a few campaigns together before but usually one of us ended up having to dm to find a game. We are looking for a game to be able to play in together. We live in Florida so we are east coast time zone and would love an opportunity to play in your game. What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? Currently Available at all times What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) I enjoy games with progressive stories that involve all of these aspects that you have listed. How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) Me and my Girlfriend have played 7 or 8 campaigns in 5e all spanning several hours. Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign. I enjoyed many of my characters in the past, as a pc i enjoyed playing my mountain dwarf wizard who pretended to be a cleric quite a bit as well. At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I am cool with playing w/e as long as I develop a good back story for the character I will have fun with it What interested you in joining my group? Me and my girlfriends last group just finished up and I would like to keep playing d&d without having to dm this time around if possible so finding a group we can play in together would be swell. Do you have any questions for me? No current questions.
What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? For the moment I am available most nights from 6pm central to pretty much midnight, excluding mondays. What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.)&nbsp; Generally open to whatever, prefer the RP aspect and variety (not constantly going out to kill some orcs). How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000)&nbsp; Bout 1.5 years of experience with 5e. Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign:&nbsp; I have a lot of character ideas and backstories flowing through my head, it just depends what i feel fits the group and setting. At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I'd like to avoid playing a rogue (I'm already playing one) and warlock, but i'm open to pretty much anything else. What interested you in joining my group?&nbsp; Just happened to seem the most interesting and had info i like to know from the get-go Do you have any questions for me? What style of game are you looking to put together? A total sandbox? Sandbox with a big overarching story, on rails, etc?
What times are you available and how often? I work Monday through Friday but have all weekend off all the time, I am a west coast player so any times work for me and as long as the game is going well for everyone I don't mind it going on. &nbsp;I tend to find weekly or bi-weekly works best for both creativity and energy for the players/GM. What is your preferred play style? &nbsp;I like a bit of everything. &nbsp;With some groups trend towards social interactions and RP elements I like to slip into the "group philosopher", and combat heavy games are a great distraction. &nbsp;If a group and game is good, I am happy with the interaction. How much experience do you have? I have been playing constantly in Dungeons and Dragons for the better part of 20 years and various role playing systems throughout that time. &nbsp;I have helped world build for other DMs and currently still have my own custom world that I have built the lore on for about 18 years now. &nbsp; Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign. With the release of 5th Edition I have been trending towards playing classes I wouldn't in prior editions. &nbsp;I feel that this is the first edition in a long time I can enjoy playing any class because it's not restricted to theme, or power balance. &nbsp;Everything is interesting, and there are so many ways to play a class now that feels right. &nbsp;In a recent higher level starting game we had a world where magic items were super rare and we had all this gold to spend our money on. &nbsp;So I made as part of my characters theme that he traveled the world learning every single language mostly because of his motivation to learn cooking. &nbsp;So when he wants stomping through dungeons he was the party's cook and official translator. &nbsp;He ended up getting into trouble with a noble's court because he insisted on trying to barge his way into the kitchen to help with the cooking and ended up being chased out by an angry wench whom he had insulted her cooking ability, she reported him as trying to poison the Duke. &nbsp; At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I am really interested in giving the Druid or Barbarian classes a go, but there isn't any of these roles that doesn't interest me. What interested you in joining my group? I like to spread my social gaming horizons and the questionnaire and descriptions caught my eye. I find that when I am exposed to new players and DMs I get the creative bug myself and it improves my own playstyle and DMing. If you don't try a bit of everything you never know what you might miss out on. &nbsp; Do you have any questions for me? Not at this time. &nbsp;Hope to see you in game.&nbsp;

About me. Timezone -7MST, 21, What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? My Schedule is pretty hectic&nbsp;but once a time and date is decided on I will guarantee that I will be there. What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) Medium-heavy RP the setting is all dependant on the Character for exploration. I like large overarching quests with small-medium tangentially related sub quests. How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) 2 years DnD 5e, 1 year as DM, 6months, Shadowrun 5e, basically I'm a scrub. Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign Played Bren the Axe - I loved playing him he was a dwarven Fighter and my first character. He loved whittling, carving, and camping.He was soft spoken and not very bright, but held a terrible temper to all Orcs.They destroyed his village, but Bren managed to help the people of his village escape. After that he decided to roam the world for coin to aid in the rebuilding of his town. He wasn't successful and died to a crit(house rule maxDMGx2). NIN - Born to the streets a poor halfing beggar, he was adopted he and his brother(my best friends character ATT) by a roving band of adventures because of his innate talents of magic casting spells left and right(sometimes he could not control it). Master of persuasion and mascot/comedic relief was probably the most fun i had playing DnD&nbsp; Want to Play- I have not decided on a name for these guys because&nbsp; i like to give them names when they are played Human Fighter(Purpledragon Knight )- a knight&nbsp;who has seen many battles(at least he says he has), he has lost his company and is seeking adventure to reunite with them(he is the last one, his mission failed,platoon wiped, he just can't admit it). Very jovial but can't hold his liqueur. if I were to play him I would hope the restriction &nbsp;for specific order be lifted as i know next to nothing of traditional DnD universes. Human Monk(Way of the sun)- Very clean,uptight, and judging.Your bread and butter Superman/Optimus Prime, Less leading and likes to take an advisory role Halfing rogue(Thief)- a con artist thru and thru, but convinces everyone he is a wizard through the use of magic tricks(sleight of hand smoke and mirrors etc..), also insists that all other forms of magic are ungentlemanly when asked to do other magics. he tends to be someone who doesn't shy from a challenge even though the odds are stacked against him. At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I could fill all but the healer, if I were to chose a supporting role I would prefer someone who debuffs/buffs the enemy/party. What interested you in joining my group? So first of this is a rant if you don't want read this. I &nbsp;haven't played DnD in a long time ,then my schedule finally allowed me to pick up a game. It was with some acquaintances and some of the people who taught me DnD, I was really excited. The first week was great 3 people delving dungeons, laughing until this week when we got 3 &nbsp;extra people one who wanted to dual box! I couldn't stomach it. Your post is a vent and a hope.I want to play DnD the way DnD was meant to be played. The What section is very inciting as I like homebrews more than official adventures as the old group had a very meta stance on lore. Do you have any questions for me? if I'm accepted I will have a lot of Lore questions on your homebrew(curiosities sake not why also if not I would just like to discuss homebrewing in general/world building&nbsp; Edits: about me, and formatting,as I am a klutz.&nbsp;

Hi my name is Sam(abudabi or abu) i am new to this site and i have a little bit of experience in d&d i am 28 years old live in cst and am available most weekends and everynight would love the chance to hop in fresh to a new/newer game being i lack some of the more technical experience i have a mic and am very open to using voice...... i also have some really interesting character ideas with really really in depth character backgrounds i would love to put into a story What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? I am available most times and no max session time alotted breaks(which i assume are mandatory) What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) I love characters and i really like getting into who and what makes things happen..... the role playing and the characters also really love the dynamic of a group building and crafting a story/world on a reactionary bases How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) i have only played one campaign(dm ended up moving away so we never finished) but would really love to get more involved Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign? My character is a strange drifter who just seems to show up in strange places at strange times..... he wears bright clothes from head to toe that are a mishmash of strange colors in straps and shapes dangling everywhere and he wears a harlequin mask that cannot be removed due to a curse put upon it to hide him(the mask seems to shift and change to fit his emotion in a kind of discomforting way that makes people unnerved around him) At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I would love to be an arcane trickster/bard someone who can lie with a smile(the mask makes it really creepy) and is very good at making a strange scene on the battlefield to disorient his opponents and assisting his allies What interested you in joining my group? you are open to new player as well as starting a fresh campaign plus you having more experience hopefully allowing me to learn more and someday dm my own game Do you have any questions for me? Just if you have any more questions for me?
Hope I'm not too late! *&nbsp;What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? I will be available Saturdays and Sundays at around 10:30-11:30 AM GMT, and I can play for a maximum of 4 hours. * What is your preferred play style? Exploration and role playing. I especially love playing unique races - my last few races have been a Kenku and a Kobold. * How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) I'm actually a newbie, but I am now quite obsessed with DnD. :P * Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign I used to play as an Arcane Trickster. Not terribly optimized, but still fun to play. Now I'm currently a Kobold Sorcerer that can barely lift a weight but can blow someone's head up. * At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I can easily fit into any role you wish to be. * What interested you in joining my group? I love playing DnD and I want to get better at role playing. * Do you have any questions for me? Do you allow Homebrew from Dungeon Masters' Guild? I prefer to communicate with Discord, but I also have Skype ready when needed.
What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? I'm available at all times recently, I'll have my schedule for college soon and I'll let you know how much time I'll have from then on. What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) I'm a huge roleplayer, I enjoy combat, but I really like having a reason to fight. I enjoy being given a reason to go and explore. I'm not a huge railroad fan, but I think it really helps to have a great campaign. I'm open to whatever, but I like being told what direction to head in. How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) I have a lot of time on this. Over 150 hours I'd say. Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign I would play arrogant and rather charming rogue by the name of Rynn Emberfall. He is a noble who took up pit fighting. I change his backstory a lot, but he is always a swashbuckling rogue and it always ends with some fun. At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I'm definitely filling that charisma role if I'm allowed. What interested you in joining my group? You're love of backstory journeying. It reminds me of the Pax games where Chris Perkins gave whole campaigns dedicated to his players. Stuff like that is highly appreciated as a player and to be able to see his backstory in a playthrough is something special. Do you have any questions for me? I don't actually. I think you answered them all in your intro.
What times are you available and how often (also include the maximum amount of hours you'd want to play in one session)? Time I would be able to play would be Fridays 7PM to 9PM CET, Saturdays starting anywhere between 1PM to 8PM CET, or Sundays 1PM to 3PM CET. I might be able to budge on the time a great deal on Saturdays. (Central European Time) What is your preferred play style? (Lots of role playing, a lot of dungeon plundering, more wilderness exploring, solving a mystery, quests that span over a few sessions, small quests that are simultaneously running while you work on one huge quest, really open to whatever etc.) What I enjoy in roleplaying is creating my character, explaining the cool ways I kill monsters/people in, how awesome my magic looks and making a story. I like a nice mix of roleplaying and combat, I'm not one to take too much space to do my roleplaying and I am no tactical mastermind of combat but I enjoy both of them as much. How much experience do you have? (No judgment whether you have played 0 times or 1,000) I have about 5 years of experience with Roll20, the system I started out with was 3.5, then Pathfinder and finally 5e, which I have played since it came out and I have most experience in. Tell me about some of the characters you loved playing in the past and/or a player you might want to play in this campaign One character I really enjoyed was a Storm Sorcerer, a dark themed character, he was kind of wildling, animal sacrifices constantly murmuring words to the ancient and forgotten gods. GM seemed to like the idea and really made him grow during the game and gave him a great send off when the game ended, which I was very grateful for and is probably one of the reasons why I remember him fondly. At the very least I will be looking for a tank, a healer, and someone with a useful skill such as high charisma or high stealth, so if you are looking to fill one of these useful roles please let me know. I'd be interested in playing either support with damage or a dps with support. Classes I'm interested in atm is Theurgy Wizard(Non-Divine Faithful; Unearthed Arcana) or a Beast Circle Druid (Druid Circle - Circle of the Beast; Unearthed Arcana). But I also would be ok with playing a multiclass Cleric/Wizard, 3 Cleric/ + Wizard What interested you in joining my group? I like making backstories for my characters, so having the dm work that into the game is always cool. You are also open to races in Volo's Guide, which I might be interested in. And I generally like it 60% roleplay and 40% combat, so being in a roleplaying heavy game is interesting to me. Do you have any questions for me? What software do you planing on using for voice? Roll20? I'd recommend Discord over using Skype, but would be fine with using Roll20's own.
