Map taking minutes to load in chrome, then disappears for good.

Mac OSX 10.6.8 Chrome, current update. I got logged into roll20 for the first time, and the only thing I could see for the map was a black rectangle. I resized the map to 10%. It eventually showed me the map, after several minutes (even though everything up to that point had happened quickly enough). When I went to resize the map to 100%, it was a black rectangle again for several minutes. Then the map appeared. The GM altered the fog of war and the whole map (not just part) disappeared again. It stayed a black rectangle until I gave up several more minutes later. I logged into the same game on a PC laptop, in chrome, and the map came up fine, after only a brief pause. It resized and scrolled, and fogged-of-war fine on this computer. Any thoughts?

You might be experiencing something that occassionally happens to me when loading the game. I find that if I closing the browser and restarting it fixes the problem. Note: hitting refresh doesn't seem to fix it. I suggest closing the browser and trying again. If the problem persists please let me know. - Gauss
Gauss, Sorry, I forgot how it all happened. At first, I only saw a black rectangle. After a few tries, refreshing, relogging in, etc. Both my GM and I shut down and restarted our computers. When I rejoined after that, it, after minutes of a black rectangle, showed me the map as described above-taking minutes to load after any adjustment, and then nothing again. So, yes, we did close the browser and try again. Sorry I didn't state that part above. Thanks for your help! ~Aaron

Have you tried clearing your cache yet? If the problem still persists can you bring up the Chrome's Java Console (Command - Option - J) and give us a copy of the log while Roll20 is gummed up.
Actually it sounds like your Mac computer might just be rendering slowly? How complicated is the map? You might try joining/creating a really basic campaign and see if you still have that issue...
I only game every couple of weeks, but when I get a chance I will try some of those ideas.  I did clear my cache at one point, in the muddle of trying to get it to work.  I agree it does sound like my Mac is rendering slowly, which seems odd because it's not generally underpowered.
