Token Comments

Hello All, I'm thinking about using this site to run a Fate game. Part of the fate damage system is something called consequence. In short these are plain text description of status ailments e.g. "Broken Leg". While I saw options for adding numeric descriptions to the token I was wondering if there would be any way to add something like tags, or just make the GM text visible to players. Thank you for your time.

Are their many of these types of consequences in the FATE system? What you could do is turn on one or more color indicators on a Token to designate certain ailments and create a color key on the tabletop to list what the indicators mean.
That would be a great idea. Josh - In the meantime, what I've found from running a FATE Core game using Roll20 is that it helps to think a little out of the box. Because FATE uses abstract (as opposed to tactical) positioning, you can do different things with the tokens. I've made a little area for each player on the main landing page and then use tokens to represent both Fate Points and their stress tracks. You can use the tables (especially the big red X one) to mark filled in boxes and then also name the stress tracks with the consequences. Just make sure you check the boxes for "Show Nameplate" and "See: Name" under player permissions.
Kristen C There could be many. There are up to 3 consequences that can be taken. However players co do actions called maneuvers to put status ailments on NPC's. All of these are plain English and not preset. Does that answer your question? Dave D That is an interesting approach. I was sort of hoping to use the table to have zones and moment. Though That may provide an option in the short term to work with. Thank you for your time.

Dave D. That's brilliant! :)  I may do something similar for tracking hero points and conditions in my Mutants and Masterminds game upcoming.  Thanks for the useful tip.
