Completely new to D&D

Hey! I'm Sods and I'm completely new to D&D, I've been watching videos for a while now but never really understood what to do. A friend pointed me in this direction so I'm wondering if anyone is able to help me start.

What sort of help are you looking for?

How far back in time do you want to go too? I think there are people playing versions of D&D all the way back to AD&D but definitely 2nd Edition.

There are people playing any and all games here. I know of people playing OD&D, BECMI, 1e, clear up to 5e. There are people still playing all the various game systems that came out in the 80's and 90's
