LFP Friday 7pm GMT - FATE system

The Seventh world of Alagor is one of magical entities, steampunk machines and undead nightmares. Two centuries ago, Technomancers pushed the boundaries and spawned forth a combination of Technology, Life and Magic that was never meant to be. In the years following, Humanity was pushed back from the world and into Havens, densely populated cities with towering walls and weapons powered with the breath of dragons and the hearts of elementals. These are the last lines of defense between the Human race and utter annihilation. Lush forests, snowy mountain tops, picturesque meadows are once again home to creatures of magic that stalk these beautiful landscapes in search of pray. Blasted Aetheric Bomb wastelands pox mark the land, hostile to life and hiding the remnants of great battles. Blight spreads from the Crypto-labs that spawned the undead poisoning the ground and all life that spends too much time sucking on its toxicity. The world inside Haven is dystopian and authoritarian, the world outside is deadly and full of nightmares, death and freedom. -Technologies powered by Magic: Trains are powered by imprisoned Fire Elementals, Cites are powered by Lightning Storms trapped in a jar -Points of Light: The Undead have driven civilization back to the corners of the map. Travel is dangerous but rewarding. -Darker Magic, Darker Experiments: Zombies came about due to combinations of magic and technologys that were never meant to be mixed. Some are simply shambling undead, others are mind warping abominations.
Dystopian post-apocalyptic magepunk? Sounds pretty awesome. Are you planning on Core, FAE, some particular hack?
I would like to express my interest as well.
I'm not really familiar with anything other than the basic ideas behind FATE, but if that's alright then this sounds interesting and I'd be down to play.
Jonathan, Drivethrurpg and Evil Hat's website have a number of free or Pay What You Want FATE resources.  I think there is also an SRD.
Oooooo, tell me more
This sounds pretty awesome but I do have a couple of questions. What day of the week would you be planning on playing? Would you prefer a campaign that stayed inside the wall or more of a traveling campaign which deals with the zombie problem?   Is there some kind of holy/church type of entity which players could be trained/hired by?   Are the trains the main "safe" travel between the cities?
Specifics of how you'll be running the game, like voice or text, or if you'll be using any site or program besides Roll20, would also be helpful.
Adam C. said: What day of the week would you be planning on playing? At a guess, I would say 7pm GMT on Fridays, but that's just an assumption on my part. =P *nods to the title*

So lets answer some questions: FATE core will be the system Im using with plenty of Extras Voice via Skype, maybe Discored The campaign will be both sides of the wall. How much time you spend on either side of the wall depends on the group, Im happy with what ever mix comes up. Inside the walls will be mroe focused on the politics of the different organisations and outside the wall will be exploring ruins and recovering relics etc There arnt many organisations set in stone currently, so theres scope for holy churches etc Travel between cities is primarily via train systems, there are air ships but their rare and usually military. While travel is possible, it might not be safe. Because humanity was pushed back from the world, resources are harder to come by and many citys war with each other over the safer more reliable resource sites (mines etc)
This sounds quite fun, lots of ways the party could pursue things.  Espionage, I imagine with the in fighting between cities stuff like spying and assassin open up, heck just being free lance mercenaries could be a thing
Given a choice, I'd vote Discord over skype. Skype's given me no end of troubles over the past year or so.
Sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I would agree with the poster above, I've taken to pretty much exclusively using Discord over Skype over the past year.
So you mentioned that move technology that is out there comes from trapped elementals or other such things.  Does this mean that elementals are fairly common?  Or are they summoned into the world by mages etc.  Is magic common?  And what type of tech would the average person have access to?
Elementals will be pretty common in the wilds, plus a few other 'beings' which will be rarer. Magic is something that people experiance every day, though only a portion of the population is able to use it and a much smaller portion can use to to great effect. Tech wise, people in the Havens will have some tech. Simple Rifle (plus basic training incase their called to defense), public transportation (private would be reserved for the rich/well connected) and machinery for farming and other work. Bits of tech inside the home would be very basic like cooking impliments and such not entertainment devices or luxury goods.
