Creating a character sheet for original Deadlands - newbie needs advice!

I'm new to Roll20 and looking to start a Deadlands game. There are no pre-created character sheets, so I'm going through the painful process of creating one within the free subscription membership. I'd like to subscribe generally, but cash is a bit tight at the mo to commit monthly. So I was thinking of doing a one off subscription in order to make a swanky Deadlands character sheet, not only for my benefit but also so others might give the game a whirl. Am I right in thinking that sheet would be available on the dropdown list of character sheets when I upload it, available to every level of subscription? Or are there copyright and/or mod approval restrictions?

Good on you Sarah, and welcome.  Once your sheet has been approved by Roll20's repo manager on github it's available to all Pro users who want to install it as a custom sheet using the repo's code.  As per "..would be available on the dropdown list..."; it's my understanding that generally there is a one-sheet-per-system with a few exceptions(perhaps two very different sheets based on the same system).  Sheets that are on the list will be available to everyone regardless of subscription. You would have to check specific with your particular game system on usage rights.  The Mods/Devs might have to chime in on any specifics.  Cheers

Sarah, there actually is a Deadlands: Classic character sheet in the drop-down list already... It may or may not meet your needs...just sounded like you may not be aware of the existence of this sheet, though. EDIT: Or were you talking Deadlands: Reloaded? If that's what you're talking about, then the Savage Worlds Tabbed sheet supports Deadlands: Reloaded (among other settings).
Thanks both, I appreciate the help! I didn't spot the sheet initially as I didn't think to look under Savage Worlds, so thanks for the tip! I've looked at the sheet to see if it's usable for original Deadlands: The Weird West from 1996 rather than the Savage Worlds version which is Reloaded. Looking at the sheet I think it's actually based on the 1996 version NOT the Reloaded 2006 version. So, I went and found the original sheets for both versions and they are very different. Although the sheet is listed as Deadlands Classic under Savage Worlds I THINK that this character sheet might not be Savage Worlds (even though its the same company).....however, if this is important to how sheets are shown on the drop-down menu then don't go by what I say as I might be confused. I think the sheet is correct for my game, but doesn't have the 'roll' icon to roll the dice. I think my players will just have to use the Dice Roller, but I hope that I will eventually be able to construct my own sheets in future.
I agree, it shouldn't be located under Savage Worlds. Who controls the location?
I've noticed that Deadlands Classic isn't really included in the games roster.  I just started a game of my own, and after finding the character sheet and trying to tag "Playing" with Deadlands, I was forced to choose "Savage Worlds" (which isn't really right, but might attract the people who are looking for it) and "Other Games" (which I imagine is as random as any other "etc" option).
