Suggest a System for a Homebrew SciFi Campaign

Hello everyone. As the title suggests, I want to create a homebrew SciFi campaign, but cannot find a good SciFi system to use. At this point, I am considering making my own core rulebook using another system's rules and my own everything else, but I would prefer not to. If someone could suggest a good alternative, it would be most appreciated.
