totally lost

been wanting to use Roll20 for YEARS ... tried several times in several versions ... could never find the workflow I needed. am now hoping to use it for FFG:SWRPG which needs the fancy dice set - I know there are API scripts ... *BUT* ... every blog/video/how-to says "go to game details and click on..." ... but WHERE IS THIS 'game detail' page-link-button? ... I created a game ... I have no such button/page/tab etc ... what is going on? !help!

No problem! Here is all about Game Details: https://wiki.roll20.net/Game_Management#Game_Detai... Basically, it's the page for one of your Games when you click on it's name in your Games list instead of the Join button. Note that the API is a Pro Level perk, so you won't see API Scripts in the Settings section.
thank you the option is simply not visible ... nowhere does the work 'detail' appear. I assume this is a "pro" option? ... be nice if that was made clear at the outset ... so I have to spend money to find out if the product is worth spending money on .... mmmmmmm

You only have to spend money if you want to go Pro and gain access to the API. The free account also has a Games Detail page. As The Aaron said, if you go to your Games page and click the name of your game, you should get something like this: Clicking on the Settings drop down is what will give you the other options. For example, Game Settings is where you select which character sheet you want to use, etc. To get the API, you do need to subscribe, though. I don't know anything about FFG:SWRPG, so can't tell you how you might be able to play that game without the API, though...

Game Details is simply what that page is called. I'm sorry it was difficult to find and I can understand that it could be overlooked in the interface. There may be a better way of formatting it which could be pursued. The Community Created FFG:SWRPG Character sheet with Community Created API Script requires the API to handle all of the automation surrounding calculating the dice pools and totally the different symbolic dice into their meanings. The API runs on special purpose servers with necessarily higher end capabilities which are not accessible below the Pro subscription level unfortunately. However, you can still play FFG:SWRPG without all of the fancy automation on a free account. You would use Rollable Table for the dice, allowing you and your players to roll properly weighted symbols, and then calculate the pools as you would in person. Hopefully that helps!
