You could just turn the roll20 grid off. It's really not that important. It's super easy to place tokens without the grid. You could try scaling the map in inkscape before you bring it into Roll20. If you're up for it, I posted a demo of how to make your own wilderness hex-maps in Gimp (the key is the mosaic filter) and another one: how to make your own tabletop-style wilderness hex-maps in blender (much more difficult, but looks kinda cool). More tips: Sometimes map tiles from the marketplace come into your game at a small size, so you have to scale them up. Drop a bunch on your map and select them all so you can scale them up uniformly. Or, make a reference tile to compare the rest to, so you can scale them up easily. Or, figure out the dimensions and set them by right-clicking. Make sure you place them on the map layer and not the token layer. Select a tile and use the keyboard to nudge it into place. Alt+ArrowKey will move it 3 pixels at a time.
