cWoD werewolf combat issue

So, I've fully filled out my sheet and now setting up rolls based on convenient skills.  Under the Combat tab and under Brawling there are buttons for attacks. When i press the Claw attack in there, it works fine. When i take it down to my Macro bar, the chat says: No ability was found for %{Ray|} Katie: Ray|  If i use As: Katie No ability was found for %{Ray|} Ray: Ray| If i use As: Ray Where does the | come from? Issues with the sheet coding? "Katie" being my Display name name. "Ray Rust" is set as Name on sheet and "Ray" as Player (so it pulls the name from Player.) Worth mentioning is that when i change Name in the edit button up top it changes the Player field. We use the W20 Sheet version And even when it works, can i modify difficulty on the go? Is it better if i use macros entirely? If so, can someone direct me to/help me with learning about World of Darkness macro building specifically? (wiki is quite useless) Got a bit confused with the pathfinder examples. A glossary and reference guide for the different codes would be nice (something more advanced than the wiki page under Tips and Tricks.) Thanks!
I will look into it
I noticed that i think the rolls do /e instead of /me
This campaign  here . The macro issue came from me no giving some buttons names.  I corrected that in the test campaign. The name/player name thing comes from me not paying attention when I coded the sheet.  Also fixed in the test campaign. Difficulty of on the 'natural' attacks can now be modified in the test campaign.  The /e vs. /me both work for emotes.  That is the best way for me to explain it right now because I am an idiot when trying to make words before coffee.

Claw now Does 0 + 0 + 2 damage.  How would i write a macro that works like your claw attack but with adding input diff? I want to pull it from the sheet but the diff changes sometimes. Also not automatically adding damage. Does the Claw macro (for example) automatically get modified by the damage you record?
Not understanding.  Is there an issue with the claw attack damage? The difficultly on the sheet should be able to be changed. The button should change based off what is on the sheet.  If pulls the values of the attributes, not a static number.  So if you change the attribute, the button (which is just a pretty macro) will take the new number.

I press the "Claw" button in your Test WoD and it outputs as a roll that is 0 + 2 + 0 so it only rolls 2 dice instead of the 4 it should to hit and then 2 to calculate damage instead of 5. Before it worked when i rolled it from the sheet but not from when i pull the button to macro. I want to be able to fix a macro which pulls the stats from the sheet, modifies them accordingly (responding to health, shapechanging etc) and asks for difficulty but not for any modification.  I've been trying to modify the macro you use but i just can't get it right >_> Bestow upon me some of your knowledge, you god of Roll20 Sheets!

Check the various forms, make sure there is something selected.  I think its missing the strength selection. the code for the bite attack is: /e attacks with a Bite! [[{(@{Dexterity} + @{Brawl} + @{Bite_Mod-Attack})d10}>@{Bite_At_Difficulty}f1]] successes to attack and deals [[{(@{Strength} + 1 + @{Bite_Mod-Damage})d10}>@{Bite_Difficulty}]] damage If you change the "@{Bite_At_Difficulty}" to "?{Attack Difficulty|5}", it will ask for whatever difficulty you want (but defaults to 5).  I can set this up on the sheet, if you like. Other than the pop up asking for the difficulty, are there any other things you want adjusted on the sheet/macro?
Yeah, that would be awesome! Could you show me how it looks if i want it as macro by adding one to the testing WoD? I would like it to not display damage either, because that'll depend on the other part and such. Making that a separate roll.  I've been trying to learn this thing for 8 hours now. Done a lot of headway :)
This afternoon, when I get back from school, I can add a button for damage that asks how many successes were done on the attack roll.  Might make things easier

Yes/no switch added, so you can either use the attack difficultly on the sheet, or use a roll query. Damage switch added to the claw/bite/etc area, so damage is rolled separately.   Thinking about rebuilding the Forms switches, but haven't decided yet. Reworked the Forms area.  Now you can change all attributes with one click of a button.  Sheetworkers, ahoy!
How do i get a hold of it?
If everyone is happy with it, I will push it to github and everyone can enjoy it.

If clicking the damage on the right is supposed to be the damage roll, it was a fluke that i noticed it. Won't be so easy to figure out if you don't know it's there. Maybe a title? Where's the one-click-change? Now, some requests because it's so amazing and I'm greedy!  Can you make the damage levels effect the rolls? Maybe even something as sexy as when you click further down on the health boxes they get filled up until that one? (Just a suggestion, not that important xD) Under the attributes tab and below Dice pools, could you make one version without popup for Pool mod (Would streamline a bit) Speaking of the Dice Pools tab. What does the Modify button do? It just seems to remove the Add button Also, amazing job! How does the Abilites tab work?
Maybe a way to keep check on using willpower, rage and gnosis?
Katie S. said: Maybe a way to keep check on using willpower, rage and gnosis? Something to show up in chat, a roll button, or something that will announce a will power has been spent?  Or are you asking for something to show a willpower has been added to a roll. The affect of damage can be done.  I will need to know the rolls it doesn't affect.  Soak rolls, for example, aren't suppose to be affected by how much damage you have, right? Health boxes...that would require a bunch of conditional formatting that I have no clue how to do.  I can install a rotating images.  Click on the image, and it changes from nothing to bruised to lethal to aggravated damage.  It might speed things up a little. Yes, I can streamline the dice pools. The Add/Modify buttons are for repeating fields.  The add button creates them, the modify allows you to reorganize those you have made.  You may also delete any you have made, with the modify button...ish.
A roll button would be nice.  I don't really know. Maybe a quick button to tick off temporary gnosis/willpower/rage from the sheet? I don't know what works. As far as i know, it's just soak, but looking into it. Might be gnosis/willpower/rage too but checking with people. That'd be great! Thank you <3
It doesn't effect any reflexive actions
Okay, added roll templates to pretty much everything. roll button for Gnosis, Rage, and all that are "hidden" in the name.  The roll the maximum level, not the current level. One click transformation is the name (Homid, Lupus, etc).   Put in an example of the health boxes.  Not as pretty as I want, and it pushes the armor tracker over.  But once one of the  two is removed, it will be back. Rebuilt the common dice pools.  PUTTING THIS IN THE SHEET WILL REMOVE ALL PREVIOUS DICE POOLS.  And the players will have to replace them.  You can pick and choose if you want the query or not.   Re-colored and renamed the attack and damage rolls, so its easier to find them. Have not done the damage thing yet.  Will work on that later. ...and I am sure I missed something.
It looks so awesome! Everything is great! <3
Also, the box thing is sexy!
Okay, I think I am done.  Things I just finished: Roll templates on everything.  I think.  I thought so before, but missed some. Wound calculations all dice pools, weapon attack and damage, and claw weapon and damage.  Willpower, Gnosis, Rage and all soak roll are unaffected. Put the Brawling combat stuff under a claw marker. And...damnit, I know I am forgetting something. The Roll templates were designed and provided for by (I believe) the All Mighty And Powerful Steve.  They can be found  here .  Unless there is anything else, I will push these to Github on Saturday or Sunday.
Under Dice Pools there's a divider at the last skill. It's the only one that can be modified with the button. If i can invite a friend to the test server we could do a sample combat and test it out

Go ahead.  I will set up another character. The last skill- the one under the divider- the the repeating field.  I couldn't get the columns to line up, so I cheesed out and broke up the group a little.
I can't invite him though
Show him this thread and have him click on the link.  That will invite him.
Pull Request created.
What does Pull Request mean?
Would you mind sharing the code for the sheet with me? We're playing tomorrow and would love to test it out
A pull request is how one would get a sheet's code installed in Roll20.  So, its on its way to being the default W20 sheet for this site.  If it is accepted, you have had a hand in improving everyone Werewolf game. The code is listed   here .
This pops up when i try to use the custom dice pool roll
Will look into it
I am not getting that warning.
It was only on the first ability. I'm sending you an invite to the campaign. Oh, also a button for initiative would be nice. Everything else was perfect! We had an amazing time using it and you got a lot of praise!
No character in the game I have access to.
Fixed
So are you and your players happy with what you got?  Do I need to keep the code around for some tweaking?
Did you find a way to deal with that the first one in the dice pool didn't work?  A button for initiative was the only request we really had. Otherwise my group was extremely impressed and happy with it. It streamlined so much!
Updated the code in the google folder with what SHOULD work for the Spec name thing.  Will work on the initiative.  SHould be done this weekend, before Monday
Preview now looks like  this It spits out this when i try to use the first skill in dice pool. SyntaxError: Expected "!!", "!", "cf", "cs", "d", "k", "r", "ro", "s", [0-9] or [>|<|=] but "a" found.
....grumble
Make sure both of the "yes/no" checkboxes are showing at the left side of the dicepool.  If there is a blank, click on the spot where it should be and a word should should up.  See if that works.
Now it works!
Added initiative to the test campaign.  Look good?
Can't access any characters
Fixed
There! What does "no token" mean? It looks great! If i get the current code we can try it out on tuesday when we have a game planned :)

Updated the google drive folder and will be pushing this to Github Sunday Edit: No Token is where it adds to the initiative, but you don't have a token to select and have it add to the initiative tracker.   Normally, if you select your token, and roll imitative, it will add your token to the initiative tracker.   If you don't have a token selected, it will send a warning but still make the roll.
Pull request , which is how things get to Github where everyone can enjoy. Provided I didn't screw anything up.
Are you not supposed to be able to see the sheets of characters that don't belong to you?
Correct, but that is dependent on how the character journals are set up, and not a sheet issue.
