New to rolld20

Ok i am an old school player (started in 1983 with the old box set that came with Keep on the Borderlands). I have contacted a few DM's on the looking for game area, but have gotten NO responses.I would like to play 5e, dont know a thing about it but i learn quick, and can adapt what i do know to 5e.Anyone interested in playing 5e on rolld20 weekend nights(sat or sun),get a hold of me,please.I can do voice, video.
Weekends only? Bummer. I am an old school player, too. I returned to playing several years ago using Roll20. I've run a couple of long campaigns and I've played in a few, too. Feel free to Private Message (PM) me with any questions ... I would like to help. Finding a game on Roll20 for a new player is a challenging quest. Like any good quest, it takes some luck and some planning. To start with ... you should get an avatar image for your profile. The default checkerboard image that Roll20 provides is a red flag for many DMs. You should create a new Roll20 campaign with Roll20's 5e characters sheet. Look around and learn about the interface; I look for this when I am considering a brand new player. You can tell if a new player has tried things out by examining their profile. If they are not the GM of at least 1 campaign, then I assume they are not very serious. You don't actually have to play ... just looking around shows a potential GM that you are serious. Cheers!

I'd also suggest filling out your profile fields, not just getting a profile image. Doesn't have to be a huge long novel about your philosophy on gaming and life, but just having some basic summary details on there can really help a DM decide if they want to respond to you. Other than that, it just takes  a lot of applications; keep applying and don't lose hope. Fair warning, your first game probably will not be what you are looking for, but keep working on it and you'll find what you are looking for.
Well you are welcome to play with me on the weekends. The time might be a bit hard to settle this week, but we can figure it out.
I've been looking for players for 5E, however you probably have more experience than me. I am also trying something a bit new with this campaign. If you are ever interested, take a look  here .  I hope you find the game you are looking for whether it be mine or not and, when you do you roll critically! Good luck.
