Findle's Guide, Book 3

With the conclusion to Findle's second book, An Explorer's Guide to Kobolds, coming to a close this Sunday, I would like to ask those of you interested in adventuring with the lovable gnome once again what the topic of his next book should be. I won't be making my final decision until after this Sunday's game. I will be posting a short list of available topics in a little while.
A mysterious piece of paper falls from the sky, landing at your feet. You look up to see a small winged creature dart past you, swooping low through the air and dropping other pieces of paper at the feet of those near you. You scratch your head and open the piece of paper. A hand written note, made with exquisite penmanship, lay in front of you. Inside it reads: "Findle Gobbhopper, monster researcher extraordinaire, wishes to reach out to his most loyal fans. This note is a magical inquiry for those interested. The below categories are potential subjects for his next book. Please choose one of the following and say your choice aloud." - Gnolls, savage beast with an insatiable blood lust.  - Fey, magical beings from another dimension.  - Orcs, warlike marauders with a penchant for battle. - Yuan-ti, snake-worshiping serpent creatures from an ancient age. "Thank you for your time. Have a wonderful day!" After you make your decision the paper sets ablaze, disintegrating into ashes.
depending on who i play, i would say Gnolls or Orcs.
Fey sound reasonably cool. Gnolls as well
Gnolls
I vote fey

Current Standings: - Gnolls: 1 vote - Fey: 3 votes - Orcs: 0 votes - Yuan-ti: 0 votes
switch mine to fey
blah words evade me I meant I want feys instead of gnolls as well
Looks like Feys it is. What is a Fey?
Fey is kind of a catch all term used when describing certain innately magical beings. Elves are descendents of fey, same with gnomes. Pixies and Sprites are fey as well.
Will Findle focus on one paticular Fey to find the origin of the Fey linieage?
what lvl should we be?
Michael S. said: Will Findle focus on one paticular Fey to find the origin of the Fey linieage?  No, Findle is focusing more on documentation and research of creatures that are Fey or share similarities with the Fey, as well as there natural habitats and tendencies.
Regan C. said: what lvl should we be? I'll get back to you on that, but definitely 3rd level or higher. Some Fey can be pretty nasty.

Road trip to Evermeet ! :D (Kidding)
Seems the general consensus is that Findle's next book should be about the Fey. I've already got the first session of that campaign prepared, so if we want to continue playing Sunday afternoons, we can play that one next week. Unless there is a better day before then.
sounds great to me.
Alright, with tonight's success marks the end of part two and the beginning of part 3 of Findle's Guide book series, titled "A Journeyman's Guide to Fey". Letters arrive to all of Findle's "friends" seeking assistance and protection for him while venturing into the magical plane that is the Feywilds. He tells you that it will take him 2 weeks time to finish his 2nd book and begin preparations for this next voyage. He will (hopefully) meet you all somewhere outside of Waterdeep at that time. Be well prepared, he adds, as while some Fey are mischievous, others are murderous.
The below will be the perk you get due to this last adventure and the signed copy of Explorer's Guide to Kobolds:

An Explorer's Guide to Kobolds: Due to the knowledge imparted to you by this book, as well as the experience you earned while exploring the kobolds' lair, you have advantage on all Wisdom (Perception) and Intelligence (Investigation) checks related to searching for traps, such as pitfalls, spike traps, nets, and falling rubble. This only applies when you actively search for traps and does not add any bonus to your passive scores.

Since I wont be able to play this Sunday at regular time, I think we all talked about trying for this Sunday around 1pm CST. Who will or won't be able to make it to this time? Also, new characters are welcome as long as they are 3rd lvl at a minimum, no higher than 5th lvl.
we might but it is iffy as we eat after Church and run errands sometimes
Correction: this SATURDAY at 1pm CST. Not Sunday.
oh then I can make it. lol
Lol
ill try to make that
Everyone interested in playing please post the name, race, and class of the character you would most likely play. I will need this information for balancing the game.
Flent, Halfling, ranger lvl 5
arlen bard level 3/4
Merlin, human Sorcerer with 2 levels arcane cleric. Currently level 3.

Jonathan Goodheart, Oath of Devotion Paladin
Nathan Ironclad 3rd level rogue 1st level fighter human
I've currently received 7 player requests for this next game. I think I will be able to handle that may players, though the rewards may be very limited if this is the case. I am personally more focused on RP and storytelling than I am on balanced encounters, so a few extra players doesn't bother me.
Mike said: Merlin, human Sorcerer with 2 levels arcane cleric. Currently level 3.  I'm still a "may be". So the count is 6 with may be slot. If you have enough I can back out. But RP and skill roles all game doesn't bother me. If the only thing I was interested in was murder hobo and combat no stop I'd go play a video game and not play D&D.
It's official. I'm working this weekend. So count me out. Next weekend I'll be open.

This next campaign will probably last a bit longer than the others, as there is a lot of material for Findle to study. Expect for your characters to be stuck in this campaign for 4-5 sessions, if not more. With that being said, make sure you have everything ready to go, supplies bought, spells prepared, etc, by start time tomorrow.

Here are some downtime updates: From Goblins to Kobolds: 30 days of downtime. From Kobolds to Fey: 12 days of downtime. Edit: These already include travel time.
WOW. What a session. I laughed, I cried, I got up to get a snack. Well played. As far as the next session, what time works for everyone else? I was thinking same day/time next week, though I could probably do Friday afternoon instead.
Friday might be OK but I have to check my time. If it was Saturday then it will have to be later.
sorry i had to leave early. what did i miss?
so much Arlen executed a prisoner which led to Jonathan eventually knocking him out for doing so and many wierd things have happened.
But we found Findle. Unfortunately, the tree we used to get to him probably got burned down... So now we have to figure out how to get back home. Oh, by the way, 5 years have passed for Findle...
Correction: He has only been here for 2 years. Still though...
Gunnar, how much EXP for the Sea hag fight?
685 for the Annis Hag, 485 for the Bheur Hag, and 285 for the Sea Hag. 200 bonus xp per person for 1605 total for the entire session.
Besides Michael, is anybody else not going to make it today? I'm delaying the game until 2 pm, or until we get enough people to start.
Our next game should take place next Saturday. Mark has told me that he is going to be making a separate server for Findle's Guide, making the game server run smoother and allowing us to play whatever time suits us best.
The server has been made! Let Mark know which characters you want transferred so you don't have to remake them yourselves.
