I finished DM'ing a session with my group and we cleared a map in the journal.  Is there a method to reset the position of each of the tokens to their starting since we finished with that part of the adventure?

nope, previous token postions are not stored. There are some workarounds that you could do using the transmogrifier (pro perk) with some prior planning.
