mouse pointer was out of alignment (problem is fixed; reporting in case it's useful information)

November 19 (11 years ago)
I'm documenting a thing that happened to me in case the information is at all useful to the developers. I'm on Chrome 3.10, Mac 10.8.5.
Where my mouse pointer is and where it actually clicks on my maps weren't lining up. If I drew a line, the line started just to right of my pointer. It was consistently that far off every time. It didn't matter most of the time, but drawing and doing anything precise were becoming a real problem.

The only thing I could think of that changed, recently, is that on Saturday (Nov 16), I couldn't access the site. Then on Sunday, I got it, but all of my maps were blank, although the tokens at the top of the page were still visible. Finally, after clicking back and forth between my maps, they came back, but then I had this alignment issue.

I tried going to another map in the same campaign, but the problem was on all of them. I tried creating a new map in the same campaign, but again, the problem remained. Finally, I tried a different map in a different campaign, and in there, the mouse pointer was properly aligned. Now that I have reloaded my original campaign, everything seemed to be aligned. Fingers crossed that it stays that way.

I'm not sure what you can gather from a screen cap, but here you go.

There is a specific bug I was looking for. It does not appear to be present.

Please send me a join link to your campaign.

That wasn't very clear. I'm sorry. What I meant to say was that while the problem does go away briefly if I log out and log back in again, it shows up pretty soon after. I haven't timed how soon, but a short enough time that I encounter it between when I start making adjustments to the map and when I'm done making them. I'm using Roll20 for play-by-post.

I have deleted your post with the join link so others do not use it. In the future please PM the join link. (We don't want just anyone entering your campaign.)

Yes, I am a Roll20 Moderator (although "work for" is something of a misnomer because we Moderators are volunteers).

Was the screenshot taken at a time when the bug was occurring?

Please promote me to GM in your campaign.

Whoops! I forgot all about this thread. My apologies, especially considering that you were offering to help.

Thanks for deleting that link, too. I'll promote you shortly.

I am not encountering this problem very much right now, and I think it might be because I'm not adjusting the zooms (either on the site or in Chrome) and/or that I'm not leaving the map up for very long at a time. Just FYI.

And it looks like I snoozed on this too long because I can't see your name in the list of players. Sorry about that!
