[Pathfinder] Spellbook Refuses to Show Only Prepared Spells

I have a Druid in Pathfinder and am putting all the bazillions of spells I can use in my spellbook so that when we play I don't have to go look them up. The problem with this is when I prepare spells I have to scroll through and find the ones I've prepared in the huge list of spells. "But wait!" you say, "there's an easy solution for this! Just select 'show only prepared spells!"  Well friends I've tried that and it does literally nothing. I will set a spell as being prepared from my long list of spells, check the option to show only prepared spells, and the character sheet will load, and then refresh, and then nothing will be different. As a druid I have a LOT of spell options to choose from and really need a way to sort my prepared from my non-prepared spells. I assume this is a bug and it really needs to be addressed 'cause it's making the use of the spellbook really impractical for someone like me.  Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

There are a few different Pathfinder sheets, so getting useful assistance will require telling us precisely which sheet (and edition of that sheet) you're using :) As this is likely a sheet issue rather than a Roll20 issue, I'll bounce this over to the Character Sheet forum.  It can be easily bounced back to Bugs if needed!

Assuming you're using the "Pathfinder" sheet, the showed prepared spells option only affects what spells are output by the spellbook command button. See here for more information: <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Pathfinder_Character_Sheet#Spells_Per_Day" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Pathfinder_Character_Sheet#Spells_Per_Day</a>

Some things to check. just under Spells/Day, ensure you have Prepared and Only show prepared checked. &nbsp;Make sure you have a class and spell level for each spell and if the spell is prepared the prepared field needs to be 1 or greater(as a hint, the row's background should change color slightly to help indicate that a spell is prepared). Try the Recalc button at the top of the sheet. The latest version of the sheet will be going live anytime and I believe Chris has made some additional changes to ensure Spellbooks are working more efficiently. &nbsp;Also, while very tempting, we do not recommend loading spell caster's up with too many spells. You will begin to see a significant hit in performance. &nbsp;I would include your most often used and perhaps drag/drop other spells to the sheet as you need them. &nbsp;Hope this helps.

I should probably make the "show only prepared spells" appear if you select "prepared"

Hey thanks so much for the quick replies to everyone. Yep. I have all those things happening in my spellbook, but checking the "show only prepared" option does nothing, even when I refresh the sheet. So maybe it is just a bug with the specific sheet.&nbsp;

hmm. &nbsp;v1.17 is live now (may not be on all servers). &nbsp;You might try going through the steps from above once again with v117 and see if that resolves the issue.

I opened the character sheet this morning and had the notes about the update. Opened up the spellbook, saw all my spells, and tested the show only prepared toggle. Nothin'. Let me try again though and refresh the sheet.&nbsp; [EDIT] Yep. Still doesn't work. I don't suppose the system I'm running this on should matter, since it's browser based. And I have ad block disabled for this site, so that shouldn't be interfering. I'm running on Chrome, if that matters.&nbsp;

I'm really not sure. &nbsp;;-( &nbsp; If you want, you can import your character into the PF beta game ( <a href="https://app.roll20.net/join/801350/kEQ72w" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/join/801350/kEQ72w</a> ) and we'll have a look.

How do I import my character sheet, exactly?
If it helps to know this as well, selecting the new (and totally awesome) "group by school" option also changes nothing in my spell book. Should I try just removing all the spells and trying again? Not sure how that would help but. Idk.

I'm pretty sure you can do this as a player... Just join the beta game, then you you should be able to use your character vault and import from an existing game to the beta game.

I'm not familiar with what a character vault is From the top menu of roll20's site "Tools&gt;Character Vault" &nbsp;You can backup your characters and if a GM allows it, you can import characters from the vault to their game.&nbsp; <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/My_Vault" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/My_Vault</a>
I could be mistaken here, but isn't Character Vault a Plus or higher only feature? Or did that change?

Ahh, good to know. That actually makes my latest game much easier :D

I have one idea: can you open the javascript console, then change an option like check or uncheck 'group by school', and see if you see any red lines print out in the console with an error message? or even a non red error message. Because the only thing i can think of is there is an error and it is stopping the menu creation from finishing. in Chrome, press F12, then click on "console" (the 2nd item in the menubar at top)

also i added some code that should be released tomorrow that is a little more forgiving of blank fields, and has better error handling, so by tomorrow when on the new v1.18 either it will work, or the error message should for sure be printed to the console.
