Multi-dice rolls averaging out?

I've noticed throughout playing the game that whenever multiple dice are rolled at the same time (8d6 for example) the site tends to average out the roll near half of the max roll. When rolling 8 d6's individually, the numbers were much more scattered and sporadic. I'm not sure if this is intended, or if I've just been really unlucky in my rolls and it only seems this way. I'm just interested to know if this is something that is supposed to happen, or a problem that hasn't been caught before.

Hey Dapers, roll20 uses a  Quantum Roll dice engine, which utilizes a true random source of entropy to ensure the rolls are random. To see this in action, head on over to the  Quantum Roll Status page . Hope this answers your questions!

When rolling 8 d6's individually, the numbers were much more scattered and sporadic.  This is the nature of probability. The more dice, the more the curve heightens at the median. 1d6 is a flat curve, all outcomes equal probability. 3d6 is a bell curve, with the highest point at 10.5, meaning that you are going to see a LOT more 10s and 11s than 3s or 18s. If however, you're suggesting that 8 d6s rolled individually yields a significantly different total than 8d6 rolled as a group, I would suggest rolling a lot of rolls and tracking the results. I suspect there's confirmation bias going on.
