Help with Statting NPCs

On this page:

https://wiki.roll20.net/5th_Edition_OGL_by_Roll20

It says:
"You can fill out an entire NPC sheet in a single drag and drop. Create a new character journal and enable the NPC Sheet on the Character Sheet tab. This will open the stat block so that it can be filled in manually. Keep this open and run a search for the NPC you want to create from the Compendium tab."

However, I can't find NPCs in the compendium. Say I want a 3rd level wizard NPC... Am I missing something?

You'll need to use pre-existing compendium entries/templates. You can find them here:
https://roll20.net/compendium/

If you're using 5th edition, you might be looking for something like a slightly modified Apprentice Wizard:
https://roll20.net/compendium/dnd5e/Apprentice%20W...
(only available through purchase of Volo's Guide to Monsters).

Tbh, I'm not entirely sure what you might find in the open SRD to use as a template.
If you are having trouble by not being able to go from a player-character sheet to an NPC (I just had the same issue,) the problem is you have to not be in your game, click on your game, go to the settings on the page before you enter, and the box is at the bottom(ish), you check that and it gives you an entirely different sheet upon your next entry to your game. Hope this helps!

Hope this also helps!  Settings on the first image under "Thunder." then that checked box under "Default Sheet Settings"

On that page, it says, "And if you're using a compatible Character Sheet, you can just drag-and-drop spells, items, or monsters right out of the Compendium and onto your sheet to fill in the details."

In other words, you can drag and drop monsters, items, and spells, but there probably aren't any templates for NPCs in the open SRD?

There are lots of templates. It's just a matter of finding one close to the type of NPC you're wanting to make.

Really? If you could post a link to one of them, I bet I could find the rest...
