Session 6

Good game gentlemen. Even with only 3 players the turns were taking quite a long time to come around because of the huge number of Goblins and Hobgoblins in the turn order. Slowly but surely you whittled them down and then faced the tentacled monstrosity in the ancient chapel. After defeating Grick, you captured the remaining Goblin Archer who begged the giant blue/green fighter to please not step on him. Then the party investigated the ancient stone altar dedicated to Oghma (god of knowledge), Mystra (goddess of magic), Lathander (god of dawn), and Tymora (goddess of luck). This was an obvious sign that the builders of the castle were human, yet the architecture spoke of Elven design. A mystery? And speaking of mysteries, you found the ancient altar covered with a bloodstained black cloth embossed with the holy symbol of Maglubiyet, the patron of all Goblinoids. This sacrilege must surely be the work of the goblins trying to rededicate the temple to their evil god. But Goblins being Goblins, they didn't turn their noses up at the solid gold religious implements they found in the temple. They re-purposed the chalice, knife, and censer that they found there, though they were obviously human-made religious objects worth 150 gp, 60 gp, and 120 gp, respectively. The party then came to a realization that though there were the holy symbols of 4 gods engraved on the stone altar, there were only 3 golden implements, each with a holy symbol of one of the 4 gods engraved on the altar. After some quick questioning and lucky rolling, the remaining goblin was interrogated and admitted that he had tried to steal one of he golden objects to take to his home in the mountains where his poor family was surely starving to death. He revealed that he had hidden it under the charcoal of the brazier. Rook dumped out the charcoal and found a golden statuette of a High Elf with the holy symbol of Oghma (the god of knowledge), engraved on its base. Beulah played "Whack-a-mole" while rearranging the golden objects trying in vain to open a portal or release some secret knowledge. Eventually giving up, she took the chalice dedicated to Tymora (the goddess of Luck) and plans to drink dwarven ale from it. (She also took a tentacle from the slain monster to pleasure herself with) Sir William kept the statuette of the High Elf as it seemed to radiate a faint magic aura. Scarlet took the golden knife used to cut the sacrificial animals. The Censor to Lathander lays still on the altar.  At this point we called the game. Nick had to go and there were only 3 players to start with. We did say that the party would search the remaining bodies for loot, as well as the rooms. The castle was cleared out. The party could finally take that short rest they never got around to. Bellow I will include the XP and the Loot. I will list everthing, but keep in mind that some party members already took certain items. Divide 100 XP equally among the characters if the party detects or survives the trap. Divide 100 XP equally among the characters for each pair of goblin archers the party defeats. Divide 150 XP equally among the characters if the party defeats these goblins. Divide 400 XP equally among the characters if the party defeats the hobgoblins in this room. Divide 400 XP equally among the characters if the party defeats the goblins in this room. Divide 450 XP equally among the characters if the party defeats the grick. Divide 150 XP equally among the characters if the party defeats the goblins. Divide 1750 XP equally among the players. 1750 / 6 = 291 XP each. Loot: An overlooked leather bound tome was among the parchments and decaying books on the ancient shelves of the once multistory library tower. Written in an archaic dialect of Common is a personal journal of the exploits of a "light-fingered" lightfoot halfling named Harry Hotfoot. (Contains two rituals that if followed give the Magic Initiate FEAT twice. Once for Druid and once for Warlock. Can by used by two different characters. The book itself is not magic.) Sildar's Gear.  A bloody suit of chain mail, a heavy crossbow, and an unsheathed longsword with the emblem of Neverwinter worked into its hilt. The chain mail and longsword belong to Sildar Hallwinter. Sildar would be grateful if at least his longsword is returned to him. Five spears Four longswords Three morningstars Two greatswords Four Longbows 41 arrows A  fine quarterstaff. The quarterstaff is engraved with stylized feathers, is surprisingly light (1Ib.), and worth 10 gp. A gold statuette of a sun elf (100 gp gold value) wrapped in crimson cloth with the holy symbol of Oghma (god of knowledge). A goblin hid the figurine here, hoping his fellow goblins wouldn't steal it from him. Bryndon's arcana check reveals that the statuette is imbued with divination magic. Identify needed to check its function. Solid Gold Chalice with holy symbol of Tymora (goddess of luck) 150 gp Solid Gold Sacrificial Knife with holy symbol of Mystra (goddess of magic) 60 gp Solid Gold Censer with holy symbol of Lathander (god of dawn) 120 gp
Sorry, I forgot this. Special for Beulah. One small cask is filled with an exceptional dwarven brandy, which the goblins overlooked because of its size. The cask contains the equivalent of twenty glasses. A character who imbibes a glass of brandy regains 1 hit point, but a character who drinks two glasses within 1 hour becomes poisoned for 1 hour.
if i am correct total xp is 2170
Hey Mike. I'm not sure about the XP. I'm in my Monday game preparing for tomorrow. Maybe someone else will post. If not, when I get a chance I will go to your game and check. We missed you Friday. Rook was rolling like a champion.  Andy
lol only because you were rolling for him trust me i can roll 2's like nobody's  business
Actually, Nich was playing him. But he put all his luck into Rooks rolls, cause he only hit once with Sir William. :) ha ha.
Nich thanks for taking care of rook for me sorry you used all your luck on him rather than on Sir William
