Hey everyone, Just wanted to post a quick message to let everyone know how pleased I am with the group as it continues to grow and talk about the future of Gamer's for Christ.  It has been a challenge to progress to where we are, but I feel that it has been a success because of the diversity of players and gms we have here.  A bit about my part... My challenge has been to mostly moderate things to create an environment that allows us to be creative without destroying the integrity of the game system.  I mostly tend towards a rules lawyer as a moderator because I have learned to trust that they system was built a certain way for a reason. Certain rules that might not make sense to me are usually there to avoid some sort of major imbalance that could be encountered. I guess you could say that it is similar to the same kind of trust I have in God... except that there are things about the system I think could have done better, whereas God always does things better than I could imagine.  With that being said, I want to be sure that everyone knows that I am not here to cramp your creativity or dampen your imagination, but instead to inspire it through the game system that we have been presented with. We are now venturing into higher levels that will be effected by many of the hard decisions we have had to make early on. As far as I can see, we are on the right track thanks to all of the input from everyone here and the boundaries that we have set. I will continue to work on developing systems for details we are lacking that keep us operating within the bounds of the system as best as I can.  Many times I have wanted to "let off of the reigns" a bit and let all of you make more of the decisions. I guess you could say that I get a senses for when things might go awry and just sort of jump into action. It probably has to do with my experiences gained from running multiple other large gaming groups in the past. My goal is to maintain order and therefore peace between all of the DMs and create an environment that is healthy fun for everyone.  We have covered a lot of ground in a short period of time as each new player/DM has different ideas and requests. It has come to my attention though, that as we grow, I will probably not be able to keep up with things as well as I would like. Thankfully, we have been growing a great team of DMs.  So what is ahead... Years ago, I formed a gaming guild called Loremasters. That is now the trademark term for the gaming company that is now being formed. In that guild, different DMs were assigned titles that gave them positions in the guild that allowed them to make hard decisions for the group as needed. The titles were the same as positions that you would find in a movie production with the exception of the highest title, Loremaster. I would like to do something similar here to establish some order to our group. I have already taken note certain skills that each DM here has.  So this is somewhat a new thing and I haven't really thought any further than thinking of how we can expand on management. Some DMs will probably just want to be DMs and nothing else and there is nothing wrong with that. But some of you would probably like more involvement. So those are my thoughts as of now. Let me know yours.
I think that polling people who DM may be needed because some seem to have really stepped back from the DM rolls where others seem to be expanding. But it would be nice to have someone who approves new characters, one who approves spells, one who approves new factions or content, and maybe another who helps DM's create magic items. Something like that would make it easier to reference if players or DMs need help
I agree as well. Sign me up for helping with creation lol. (I do that so well Sarcastically says) Thanks for all you do Mark and other DMs and I pray that Christ continues to be the main focus here and we grow with him as we grow in here.

I think composing a list of shared tasks would be good. Splitting up the workload has helped when it comes to DMs approving characters, crafted items, etc... Then we could have a list of other things handled by... let's say... "Moderators". We probably don't need many moderators as the goal is to have threads that detail "How To"s and "FAQ" s to keep the workload at a minimum. I would rather DMs use their time to create adventures, but some moderating will be necessary.  Right now, I am in the process of figuring out what will be needed as we grow. As of now, I feel we are manageable, but expect things to be just too much for one person eventually.
is a wiki page possible like they have for West End Marches?

I'm not sure. I didn't know there was such a thing to West End Marches. That is worth looking into.
